I got this for my 8 yr. old. I was looking for an upgrade from the piggy bank. Its great for paper money or other precious items you want to keep secure from your siblings. The inner door is heavy sturdy metal. It was easy to set the code the first time with the included directions. I suggest only setting it once because when I tried to change it to a different code and I could not do it and the lock would no longer work. The customer service was amazing and they sent me a replacement book safe right away. So even though the directions say that you can set a new three digit number code after the initial selection, I don't recommend it. Just pick one. Its a cool way for kids/teens to keep and hide their important stuff. ... show more

This looks realistic from a few feet away and is made of decent materials. The locking mechanism works well and is simple to set and reset. This was the biggest fake book safe I could find for a reasonable price and it’s good but I wish there were bigger ones and maybe some with internal compartments or shelves. ... show more

WOW!! This book is THICK and DEEP! I ordered another book safe before I decided to get this one instead. The other one didn’t have much room and kept getting stuck where the handle wouldn’t turn and would get stuck on whatever money or whatever I had on the bottom. It was so annoying. I decided on this one because it was deep and I knew it would hold what I needed without getting stuck. Its ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Looks just like a thick book and no one would guess it was a book safe unless they decided to try and read it. Looks like a boring book so I doubt anyone would want to read it anyway.     • Not bad, but it's obviously not a book if left laying flat. Blends good on a bookself.
I like the larger size but if this book is left laying flat it is easy to notice its not a real book. The "pages" are a piece of smooth white plastic.

This was purchased to hide and keep snacks away from my coworkers. While it does not look real upon inspection, it does get glanced over when the scavengers are going through the cabinets. Holds plenty of items, and has held up well so far.
