In other modes press and hold the button to reset the data. The LCD will automatically hibernate if there is no operation/water flow for 1 minute. Built-in Hall sensor and IC chipset for more accurate measurement and more precise calculation. Measurement error is less than 5%.

I bought this for a trip I just took in my RV and it worked perfectly. When I took it out of the package the meter included a battery, plumber's tape and additional quick connections for the garden hose too . The directions were straightforward and I was able to measure in total gallons used or how many gallons per minute were used. It also switches to liters if needed. I wanted to know how much water I was putting into my fresh water tank and this little device did the trick. I'm also on a well on my property and I've wanted to know how much water I used for each new tree that I planted. Now I can monitor my water usage on my garden and trees. I haven't water a lawn in over 20 years because I see that as a huge waste of water. I just mow whatever grows around the house and in the South it stays nice and green. Great product. ... show more

I got the two-pack, and it's a good price for two flow meters with this many features. I've seen another review that mentions no instructions, but mine came with an instruction booklet in English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. It comes with washers and a screen, and CR3032 batteries are included. The instructions tell you which way to align the button batteries, but if it's not clear, you pull the cover off, then pull out the gray plastic plug, and slide in the battery. Getting it back out again is a bit difficult, but you can pry it out with a small screwdriver or knife (resist the temptation to use pliers, you'll short the battery). It's reasonably accurate. I filled a 1 gallon jug repeatedly and it always read a bit under, but always within the 5% accuracy listed. It does offer the ability to calibrate, though I didn't try that as I don't need it to be that accurate. It's better with high flow than low flow rates. It's also got a lot of features -- you can switch between gallons and liters, and you can display total, session total (how much you used in a single session of water going through it), or average. It comes with 1/2" adapters if you have that size garden hose fitting. I almost never see them but it's nice to have the adapters. It also comes with Teflon tape, which you shouldn't need unless you've got a really crappy hose bib. Overall I think this gives you plenty of flexibility if you need to track water usage for lawn use, for your RV, or any other light duty, non critical application. ... show more

I've used other flow meters but specifically liked the compactness of this one and the ability to set calibration. And it indeed needed an adjustment of +15%; now it's nearly perfect. This has a few distinct uses: record of total water usage for billing or budgeting, measuring out a specific amount of water, and measuring water used per minute to determine how long to run the water. The real-time flow rate is also useful for testing different hoses and sprayers to determine how much they restrict water flow, if your goal is to maximize water flow for faster hand watering. Does the fan sprayer go as fast as the hose end with no attachment? You can find out. Unit is well-built. Easy to remove unit to change battery or rotate display orientation. Has fine filter screen on inlet. Turns on automatically when water flows. Display is easy to read. Mode is clearly shown. Can reset current volume without resetting overall total. Unit can be calibrated by up to +30% or -30%, in 5% increments. This is nice because you can go back to factory calibration by setting back to +0%. Mine required +15% to match scale. To calibrate I used a digital postal scale with a water bucket. With the meter in Liters mode, 1L = 1kg on the scale. In my case I filled the bucket with 8.006kg water but the meter showed 7.07L. 8.006/7.07=1.13... So I needed a +13% calibration. +15% was close enough. After that it was very close, both with the host on full and lowered significantly. ... show more

This is a very complete product. I comes with a detachable LCD screen that can be turned 180 degrees to accommodate your ability to see the screen in any configuration. The instructions were a bit vague on how to remove the screen to insert the battery. Grasp the screen by the edges and pull straight up and the screen will separate from the main body. Then, grasp the grey rubber piece on the back of the screen and pull it up and the battery compartment will be exposed. Insert the supplied button battery with the plus + side facing the outside edge of the screen. Then, replace the grey rubber piece. If you look at the back of the screen, next to the battery compartment, you will see + and - indicating which way the battery is to be inserted. Additionally, a quick disconnect is included, a thread adaptor for different faucet thread sizes, a screen washer and an additional rubber washer. You are also supplied with a small amount of plumber's teflon tape. There are no instructions for the use of these items. My unit arrived with the screen washer AND the rubber washer installed in the end of the main body. Remove the rubber washer and leave only the screen washer. Both are not needed in this end and you will not be able to attach a hose. Most of these issues not covered in the instructions will be evident once you unpack the unit. It works quite well giving you the option of gallons or liters and 3 different modes. It does caution not to leave exposed to temps below 3 degrees C or 37 degrees F so the option of the quick disconnect makes it easy to remove if temps drop overnight. I am impressed with this unit. It is made of plastic but it feels and appears rugged and capable of performing reliably. ... show more
