I use to add frosting to a console in my foyer to obscure the clear glass it came with. Was very easy to cut and install. Took very little time to do. Just put a few drops of dawn in water before eu spray on glass to aid in binding and use and old credit card to smooth out the air bubbles to the edges. Would but again. Recommended ... show more

People were walking up to the door and looking through the beautiful leaded glass insert and peeking through the garage door windows so we bought this film. This is the ONLY film of the four that I tried, that has a truly WHITE, not yellowish-white, FROSTED GLASS look. It completely obscures details while letting all the light in during the day. Total privacy at night with nothing more than distant shadows seen from outside. Beautiful! Instead of peeling it I left the backing on, since this is a temporary rental, and ran a strip of * Amazon Basics Double Sided Adhesive Tape, Removable Cap Applicator, 1/4-Inch x 32-Feet * all around the edges. Then I stuck the straight edge along one side of the window, squeegeed from that side across to the other, pressed all edges into the the adhesive, then trimmed the extra with * NT Cutter ABS Grip 30-Degree Multi-Blade Cartridge Knife (A-553P),Yellow *. Used on the large front door insert, clear glass arches above the windows and front door, and the row of small windows across width of garage door. They'll be easy to remove when we leave and possibly re-use in our next rental or permanent home. ... show more

I'm not crazy about how it looks, but it does work really well! My nursery has French doors and I needed something to block the light while my little one naps and this works really well. It was a little tricky to cut it exactly right, but we got it close enough!

    • Bad odor when exposed to direct sun/hot days

The lining to peel off was so thin and hard to remove. After removing the thin film it stuck well to the window with water. Its too bad that it smells pretty bad on hot days with direct sun exposure.

It definitely provides privacy day and night even with bright lights inside and allows daylight to shine in during the day. However, this product is supposed to stick by static, it does not. It is attached using water adhesion. When the water dries it falls off in 24 hours. You have to measure and cut the film. It's very messy to apply, you must clean the window then spray the window and film with water then squeegy the film to get air bubbles and stick it to the window then retrim it on the window with the supplied razor knife. This must be repeated until it gets right. After all this, as soon as the water dries, about 24 hours, it falls off. I have it taped on now with scotch tape. It's on a bathroom window in a bedroom so for me i'm the only one who sees it and i get upset every time i look at it. Do not buy this. ... show more

I have purchased this product in the privacy glass white for my bathroom shower and it looks great and so easy to install. This time I purchased the black out for two rooms that get way too hot in the summer and then I can remove it during the cooler months and reinstall in summer. Looks great and works very well. If you are a perfectionist for fitting, take your time to get the best fit and make sure you have a very sharp exacto knife to get your best fit. Watch the video (although the person displaying shows what not to do, in order to get a great fit, which is go slower). I must say I like this product very much. I might try the stain glass type or etched one just to give my rooms a different look for the change of seasons. ... show more
