This was a terrible buy. I didn't even get a months use out of this heating pad. There is no reason on our end why it should have quit working. It was only used in the evenings on a low setting when needed. Now the cold is here and the pad doesn't work. We got barely any use out of it. Bad purchase!

My standard poodle and I lives in the frozen north. She loves this heating pad, i use it inside on the cold floor. She literally gets excited when i get it out, or move it from room to room. she sleeps much more comfortable instead of curled up in a little ball. a good investment for my dog.

I bought the 18x18 when it was overstocked for $15 and for that price it's worth it. The quality of the mat far surpasses the big name brand heated beds, the edges are reinforced, the material is more durable, the cord is actually protected by more than a wire wrap. The controller seems nice but chintzy and will inevitably fail, and there's no need for the range of heat settings, although the timer is convenient. However it's obvious the internals are meant for a human heat pad because it gets ridiculously hot, far too hot for outside animals who need to acclimate to the cold or die. The default setting is only about halfway when plugged in and it's too hot for me as a heat pad. I have to turn it down to 2-3 for my inside cats and is probably equivalent to the more expensive brand which has no controller and maintains 40w. The upside is I can use it as a human heat pad for my back so it's hard to complain about a heat pad getting to hot. Just be very cautious if outside cats are using this. We'll see if it lasts through the winter. ... show more

The XL was the perfect size for our 2 pit bulls (70-80lbs each), however, they tore it up into shreds during the first night of use, so don’t waste your money if your dog is a chewer or prone to tearing fabric things up! ... show more
