    • If you just purchased an a7IV, get this ASAP. Easy install and way better than the stock evf eyecup.

I am very glad I ordered this. The stock eye cup is so small when you put your eye against it you almost have to turn your head sideways or look at it from weird angles to use it, so its very uncomfortable. Also light easily can sneak in and obscure your view of the EVF when you are trying to take shots outside and see the image clearly when using the stock a7IV eyecup. This replacement eyecup solves both of these problems by making the eyecup comfortable and so your nose does not touch the screen and it also completely blocks out the light. Its only 14 bucks to solve the problem, and it literally makes the camera feel so much better. Some people complain it takes their eyes too far from the viewfinder, but since it is comfortable rubber you can just press your eye in a bit and that solves that problem, also the viewfinder is easy to see even without pressing in IMHO. You are never going to be able to have a perfect setup of eyecup to evf, so this is prob as close as you could get for the perfect stock eyecup for the a7IV. I think generally this will work for most people and they will be very happy with it. How to install: Its very easy to install, you just pinch the two buttons on the bottom of the stock a7iv rubber eyecup and slide it up and off (look closely and you wills see the little levers to pinch), then you slide the new eye cup on (from the top down) and it clicks in to place perfectly. ... show more

This eyecup fits the Sony A7CR perfectly and is secured by an extension that slides into the hot-shoe. It is much more effective in blocking stray light than the fixed EVF surround that comes with the camera, and I plan to keep it permanently attached to the camera.

I saw this mentioned on a YT video and decided to buy it. This has been worth it. It's easy to install and comfortable when placing your eye on it. The media could not be loaded. The Sony mirrorless eye cup in my experience did not perform quite good, I found it small and uncomfortable to the eye. I decide to change this and found this replacement. This eye cup is bigger and perform better that the original, very comfortable to the eye, will help you block the outside light and concentrating on the image that you are taking. Installation is easy, good soft material, now you won't leave greasy residue from your nose or cheek on the screen. You keep all the functionalities of the camera with this eye cup. I installed 1 in my A72 and in my A73, both great. The only drawback that I found is if your are using a gimbal (mine Zhiyun Crane) the eye cup will hit the motor depending of the lens you are using, in order prevent this you will have to take it off. The one I bought fit the Sony A7RV perfectly and seems of good design and function. However, the eye cup is very soft and with glasses collapses easily. Maybe that's a good thing since it holds one's eye too far from the EVF to see the top and bottom of display where the settings are. Pushing in, they can be seen. Also, I use the rubber ring against my brow for stabilization but that doesn't work with a soft eye cup. I used it for a whole day of shooting outside and switched it back to the OEM one. ... show more
