Had this for a year now and the sticky piece attachment has just now come undone, but that’s no issue because we got a new sticky piece and will get another year of it hopefully! My girl was 4 (she’s 5 now) when we purchased but we use it as a book nook at the foot of her bed next to her book shelf. We put little string lights on the top and a fluffy rug and matching fluffy pillow in there for her. She is still obsessed with it and uses/plays in it daily! She is a rough and wild one and I’m honestly genuinely impressed at how well this thing has held up. It has zero flaws and it’s like it’s brand new still. It's well made and comes with everything you need to hang it. The canopy opens much like a car windshield sun visor. I wanted a canopy bed, without actually having room for a canopy bed. This solved that issue. I placed this canopy closer to my head then the center of my bed. Because it’s all one piece of cloth with only one hole, it is a bit different to place around my queen size bed. I ended up cutting the sheer fabric that’s on the top of the canopy in the back so I could better position the canopy between my headboard and mattress. I found it ugly and difficult to actually have the canopy over and behind my headboard, so instead I placed it between my mattress and headboard, which hides my headboard. I however don’t mind that at all. The way you see it in my picture is how it always sits, even when I sleep. It’s just enough to keep my head covered, keeping light out in the morning and I love it. Also the installation was seriously easy, and after 6 months still stuck to the ceiling perfectly. ... show more

    • It was a return, and the mount is flawed.

1. It came clearly returned. The ribbons were tied up in a strange way, and was minor brown staining on the lace. I was able to get it out and use it, because I sincerely don't want to go through returning something that isn't too bad. But it's not really acceptable. 2. The adhesive on the mount is pointless, since there is a small raised area where the hook connects to the plastic, sort of like this ___---___ So the adhesive doesn't stick well. In the end, I also ended up using different, longer, larger screws, since the ones that come with it fell off of the ceiling right after I drilled them in. To be fair, the stud finder was acting a bit weird, so maybe I messed up. I didn't have a problem with the hook itself, it holds the three ribbons that connect the tent perfectly fine. 3. The canopy itself has some stitching that isn't the best. The color is more of a dusty rather than baby pink. However. It is so darling and CUTE and everything else is almost forgivable. I draped it width-wise on my hemnes bed, and it really has a cozy, tent vibe. I think it definitely still has capacity to cover more area, so I think it could definitely fit a bed that's a bit larger as well. It also does have double layers as described. The top is a nice thick organza type fabric, while the inner is a soft, flowy cotton with a ruffle detail. 4. As an aside, the day I set it up I saw a carpet beetle larvae crawling on it. It was in that moment I realized just how much dust and bugs will be attracted to this thing. Especially if you add lights like I did. And if it's on the inside, there is no escape. You're roommates now. Just a thought for those deliberating. Update: I'm also not sure if the stitching on the ribbon/canopy connection will hold up over time. It's pretty stretched out from the weight. Overall, it's beautiful, but one star off for poorly thought out mount and longevity issues, and another star for it being a return. Edit: I don't want to get rid of stars because this review will ger buried. But like. I was sent a USED product at full price. Why was I so lenient????? ... show more

So I wasn’t sure how this was going to work with my angled mobile home ceiling but it’s not bad! She is looong and comes very, very wrinkled. Steam it before you hang it because it took forever after these pics going around this chair steaming out the wrinkles. I’m not convinced this could comfortable fit around an entire bed with how much it’s stretched already around this chair, but for smaller spaces or just the headboard area it’s perfect. I really almost bought the $9 mosquito net alternative and I’m so glad I opted for this one instead. It’s totally worth it. This was supposed to be my kindle reading chair but my kids and cats are in it 90% of the time, whole family approved. ... show more

I have SEVERE unbearable insomnia. Every tip and tool I can find, I need to use. They say that you should reserve your bedroom only for sleep and that if you’re tossing and turning, get up and go into another room. Well, that doesn’t work for a lot of us. I live in a studio apartment in an unsafe neighborhood, so my “bedroom”/apartment is all I have. I thought, well, maybe a black canopy would trick my mind into thinking I had a special little sleepy space? It has worked. I still need my meds and routines of course, but I finally have a little space I can associate with peace, calm, and even safety. The black canopy is not entirely blackout, but it has multiple layers (that seem to be sturdy because I have been rolling around on them) that do create a lot of darkness. It was so so easy to install (clean a patch on your ceiling first!) and has held up multiple days. If there are any issues with the integrity of the fabrics or its ability to stay stuck to the ceiling, I will come back and edit this. But I’m just so grateful for any little trick that helps my awful brain relax. Put on some fresh linens when you install it too for some extra brain trickery. ... show more
