These are great. I just purchase a second one for another room. The first, purchased in 2021, still going every single day of every year for about 8 hrs a day. Just purchased another one for another room. This one is running about 8 hrs daily but only in the winter. So far, it's been completely and totally quiet. PROS: - once the room gets to the desired temperature, it will stay at that temperature. when the thermostat turns it off, it remains hot and continues to warm the room. - the built-in shroud around the unit works to protect direct contact with the hot metal as it should, plus it makes the unit look a lot classier than some of the inexpensive ones. - once the small 4 legs are pulled outward, the unit is very sturdy. Don't go throwing yourself on it as a test. the legs have wheels, so the unit can be moved. - it's quiet. i've had no issues with metal expansion sounds when they were new or old. We have a 25 foot by 28 foot patio room (two walls are sliding glass doors) we practically live in. Bought one two years ago and it was great. Bought another one recently to get rid of another area heater that was radiant. Now, the entire room is heated; not just one section and one person in front of the radiant heater that drew a lot of electricity. Winter will happen soon, so we'll see how it holds up, but I think it will. It is truly amazing how it doesn't blow heat, but the room is very warm with it. I've used it for a week now, and my studio apartment seems adequately warm if I leave it on 24/7, and I'd like to know if it's OK to do that. The DeLunghi Customer-Service line, (and I have the 'code' number of the call) said the would phone me back to answer about the significance of the 'cancer' warning on the box (as somebody here is in recovery) but no return call was received. So I just guess that's the way companies are nowadays and it's all probably fine. They are probably scared of committing themselves to any answer.,but wish they would say so. ... show more

It will heated up a small room without hearing fan plowing like other heaters. But shipping in it own box without side protection so was damage on the back side of the heater.

This is my third DeLonghi heater I have purchased over the years and I have to say this is the best heater ever. This DeLonghi heater heats up quickly and quietly for that lovely warmth in these Ohio winters. I use the eco setting at night time while I sleep. Works well and keeps the room nice and toasty warm. Would give it five stars but it's very hot to the touch (which I know is typical with these heaters) which makes it unsafe around the kiddos. I'll also check the thermostat in the room and it reads higher than what the unit is set to.

    • It works okay, but my power bill zoomed up to hundreds of dollars!!

Edited to add: after using these continuously for a few weeks, I was alarmed to see that my power bill shot up to over $400!! My gas bill was low, but my power bill wasn't. This heater apparently draws a lot of power and since I had to leave it on continuously for it to make my bedroom warm at night (see below for why), it pushed me into a higher usage tier where my rates went up a lot. I nearly went over the line into the highest tier ($$$$$$). So this heater is basically useless since I pay the same to use it that I would to use my (gas) house heating system. ***** I bought this space heater since I live out on the West Coast and our gas bills have doubled and tripled this winter, which has been extra cold, and I'm looking for ways to not freeze while keeping my house thermostat set at 65 or completely off (I usually have it set in the 70s). These are my observations after having it for a week: The heater is absolutely quiet. I only heard a few noises from it the first night, so I haven't heard any of the popping noises other people have described. I put this in my bedroom, which is about 12'x15', with high ceilings and no door to the master bath, so there's a lot of space to heat up. The first 2 nights, I turned it on to the highest setting when I got home from work and shut my bedroom door. It took *some* of the chill out of the room, but I still had to bundle up in sweats and socks to be warm. The room wasn't really comfortable until the middle of the night, after the heater had been going at the highest setting for hours, and with the door to the bedroom closed. After that, I left it on all day with the door closed, and that has kept my bedroom warm and comfortable. Warm & comfortable to me means I can wear sleep shorts and a long sleeved pajama top to bed instead of sweats and socks, and get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night without having to sprint to the bathroom and back before I freeze into a block of ice. That said, there's no way this radiator has ever heated my room anywhere close to being the temp on the display (82). If my room really was 82 degrees, I'd be sweating and feeling like I was being cooked alive. So, it does keep my room at a comfortable temperature when I keep it on all the time and keep the door closed, even when outside temperatures are in the 30s and 40s and my house thermostat is turned off. I think a conventional space heater does a better job, especially since they get warm right away, but those aren't as safe as oil-filled radiator space heaters. ... show more
