The media could not be loaded. These are absolutely wonderful for my tanks. I actually bought another one after I bought the first for my other larger tank and it does very well… it’s has an automatic shutoff at the temperature you set it to; and it uses very little space. Now one of the suction cups did not work unfortunately, but that’s something small… I can make do with just one… ... show more

This heater is really good! I have purchased a few now for all my tanks. The only thing I will say is that the cord is EXTREMELY short, and it barely reached my outlet. But it works!

This heater is just what my 10-gallon tank needed to keep the temperature at 78 degrees. We keep our house about 68 degrees and this heater is not constantly on so I think it is doing just fine to maintain the heat once it gets the water up to temperature. I'd say the temperature is perfectly accurate, but the section cups could be better. One sticks VERY well. I have a hard time getting it loose! But the other one I find myself having to push it back on to the glass every so often. ... show more

I set heater to ~ 77 degrees when I received it. I have a digital thermometer set up to help monitor temp. A few hours later i noticed it was 80 degrees. I turned it down to 75. A few hours later I saw it was 82 degrees. I turned it all the way down until there was no red circles in the settings. It stopped coming on so I went to bed. the next morning the Temp was 71 in the tank so I set it to 74. Heater came on. A few hours later i check it and it's 80 in the tank again. I thought maybe it was how i had it set up, it was at an angle. So i repositioned the heater so it was horizontal and let the tank cool down to 76. I want it at 77. I turned the heater on again. Next thing i know it's back to 80 and running. See my picture of temp at 80 with heater running and it's set at like 74. I would return but I already threw away the box. ... show more

EDIT! UNPLUG YOU HEATER BEFORE YOU DO A WATER CHANGE. DROPPING THE WATER LEVEL WILL CAUSE YOUR HEATER TO CRACK!! Overall, I had been happy with these water heaters. I do have to warn you about what happened to me. The integrity of the water seal was compromised, water leaked inside and this sent the water temp of my aquarium soaring. You can see the melted plastic at the bottom. Fortunately I caught it before any of my fish died. Be careful when using this heater. ... show more
