  • Really nice stove
I really like this stove. It's light and compact when put up and easier to set up than you would think. It does warp a bit from use but still folds up easily. It can be used as a raised fire pit if you leave the top off. The spark arrestors in it work very well, been using the stove every day for the past month and havent seen a single ember come out of the chimney. You do need to ieep an eye on the chimney and clean it on a regular basis, the chimney cap it comes with does get clogged easily from creosote but is really easy to clean, just take the chimney off and give it a few light taps with the poker and shake the creosote out. I'd say that the best case use for this stove would be backpacking or bikepacking in cold weather or in places that you need to keep a close eye on what your fire is doing. ... show more

  • So far, so good. Like the unit during the first burn.
The media could not be loaded. I don't think the gloves provided are for Wookie sized people. Well packed and shipped on time. Feels very light. After reading others issues with the sharp metal, the first thing I did was head to the shop and deburr all the parts. Being a machinist we are taught to deburr all of our parts in manufacturing. Anything we make that has a burr on it is our liability as we created the burr. Why the manufacturers didn't follow this same standard principal is beyond me however, being fabricated in China might be the reason. Just be careful. After deburring the chimney pipe, I set out to find a way to roll it with one person. Using a piece of white 2-in schedule 40 pvc, and some tape, I was able to roll the chimney by myself without any creases. I taped the chimney material to the PVC pipe and started to roll the entire thing all at once. As I put the rings on one end I would remove the tape in that area. As I worked my way down with rings, I kept removing the tape. Once I was at the other end with all rings on, I was able to lightly pull the PVC out from the chimney. I then started applying the metal bands around the chimney so it would hold its shape when I found some of the bands were smaller than others. This adds a slight bit of difficulty to the build having parts that don't all match however a little deburring on the inside of the rings seem to solve the problems. Once the chimney was rolled the rest goes together just as you might see on the web. I'm working on my first burn now while I write this, and I think this stove has the potential to get me through chilly nights in my hot tent this fall. The only drawback I see during the initial burn is the joint between the sides and the bottom. There seems to be a small Gap that will let smoke out depending on the draft going up the chimney. Will work on this more to see if there's a simple solution. First burn done and I like the controls. Everything works. I will swap chimney end for end on the next burn to set a curve in the material on each end. Will pair with my teepee and stove jack shortly for a in tent trial with CO2 detector close for reference. ... show more

  • Best price & Good stove
First of all I did my homework on this stove and found that the price is the lowest on Amazon. There are stoves like this that all come from the same manufacture in China, the companies here just add their logo to them. I had thought about ordering from the manufacture over there but did not want to wait a month or more for shipping and really the price was only about $30 less so I decided to order from here. The stove is really light and comes with a good carry bag with all things packed into it. Setting up the stove was easy and you do need to have someone help you the first time you roll the chimney, it is long, almost 8' I think and you do need to tie it down because it is light and a small wind can topple it, but they have rings to attach a paracord to it. When rolled up there are gaps in the pipe and you probably could seal them with that silver fire tape but then you would have to take it apart and really, the smoke does not come out of those gaps. The legs are good but like I said unless you tie the chimney down it could topple the stove. Me, I'm going to try placing it on some flat rocks and tie it down, I think that would work better. Wear gloves when rolling and unrolling the chimney because that metal is as sharp as a razor and will cut you. Starting a fire was easy and I have to say it burns better than another stove I have and it does get a nice patina when hot. The holes on the front work just as they would in a large stove, close them a little and it seems to make the wood burn slower and it does put out some heat but have not tried it yet in my Tipi yet. It does cool down fast and I have not tried to see how long I could go before putting more wood in but if I can get 2 or 2.5 hrs. out of a burn I'm happy I'll only have to get up maybe 3x during the night to fill it. You can cook on the top for coffee and maybe a small fry pan but I bought it to heat the tent during the winter and maybe make some coffee, tea, soup or something on the top and to use while ice fishing. I'm going to look somewhere, maybe home depot or like store to see it I can get and make my own chimney down to a 5 or 6 ft. size. All in all, I like it and besides why would you pay for a similar stove at a higher price? I gave it 4 stars because if it would clean itself, then 5....My extras that I will use are gloves, a scraper for ashes and maybe that silver stove tape if I decide to keep it and not tear it down....but when you do it saves a lot of space. ***Update*** 12/3/2020 I put actual "logs" in the burner rather than pieces of branches or thick branches and once it started fully to burn, got hot and turning the vents down about in half got 3 to 3.5 hrs. of burning and heat. Still have to try it in a tent but don't see any issues there, waiting for a cold snowy weekend. Who knows, if I can get 4 hours on the burn I'll go for 5 stars... ... show more

  • I love it so much
Material Type: Titanium with Door&Side Glas... Size: 15.1x8.7x11.3''-Φ2.36''x7.2ft pipe
I bought this to keep my tent warm in the winter. But I honestly have been using it all year long simply because it’s cool lol it hasn’t warped. Titanium is the way to go. I’ve bought so many stainless steel products that wind up getting warped by the heat. This wasn’t an issue with this stove

  • Awesome Hot Box!
Material Type: Titanium with Door&Side Glas... Size: 15.1x8.7x11.3''-Φ2.36''x7.2ft pipe
The media could not be loaded. This stove is light weight, easy to pack and set up. The draft control and damper work really well together to start and control the fire. Keeps my tent nice and warm with temps in the single digits. Easy to cook on as well. No regrets!!
