I didn't know if this would be as good as purported but indeed it is. I didn't want to buy the $600 + priced chairs due they can be a huge disappointment and hard to return after the fact. I opted to buy this back support and the seat option piece to use with it too. I put them in place in my poorly designed office chair and it has resurrected it to a seat I can stay in without with so much pain upon getting up. I am so relieved there is a true affordable option. OH EM GEE!!! This seat cushion and back cushion together are a must-have if sitting in a mesh-type standard office chair!! Several months ago I purchased a much cheaper set (~$50) for my work office chair. It helped but did not alleviate sciatic pain from sitting at desk doing data entry for long periods of time. I was in so much pain by the end of the day, I was nearly in tears. Purchased this set and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I got through the day without one twinge of sciatic pain or lumbar and mid back strain. I would endorse this over and over and it is def worth the $$$ if sciatic pain and back strain are a problem for you. The only negative I would say about this is the seat cushion does not have strong enough anti-slip on the bottom to keep it from moving some every time I get up. I bought this pillow and the other from the set and have not had any issues since. It’s probably the same for other cars too, really soft and nice, but just too thick and pushes my back too far forward and then I’m sitting at a weird angle in my car. This would be better at like 1/4 of the thickness.

This memory foam lumbar cushion will no doubt encourage a better curve in the lower back, better posture, etc. But be aware that it has some thickness to it, and pushes your body forward a fair amount. Shorter people, or people with already flat or convex spines, may find that it provides too much support. Another consideration: what shape is the BACK of the chair or seat you're using? If the back support has relatively straight, parallel sides, and is upholstered, the cushion is likely to stay put. If it's heart- or teardrop-shaped, or made of slick materials like plastic, metal or mesh, then the cushion will require constant adjusting to land in the right spot. I have purchased a few back support pillows and so far this one is the best. I have one more to try out before I make my final decision. It's pricy, but well worth it. Now that I keep my back firm against the chair and this pillow (instead of leaning forward) my back has no pain. I sat all day one day shopping online and I felt no pain. I have a herniated disc on my L5, S1 and I have lots of back issues. This is good for anyone who needs back support for long term sitting. It's very firm and that's what makes it so effective.
