**it has been 3 wonderful years with these knives and they're still as sharp as the day they arrived! I have had no need to have them sharpened, and honestly, I still have no complaints. They. Are. AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about these knives. I recently moved into a new house and of course needed to upgrade some items. First on my list was a good knife set since I'm a avid cooker. Despite some bad reviews, I went ahead and ordered these. First things first; they are SHARP. I can only cut with one hand and these bad boys slice through tomatoes like nobody's business. One handed cutters dream!! Second, they are GORGEOUS. I am beyond proud of displaying them. Third, they have a wonderful balance to them. They are durable, there is nothing flimsy about them!! I have had several knife sets, but these are my absolute favourite!! Some people were complaining about them rusting, and fair, that COULD happen. But if treated right, they wont do that. My number one rule is these do NOT go in the dishwasher. In certain circumstances, they don't even see soap. They are washed immediately after use, thoroughly dried, and returned to the block. Should spots appear, I use stainless steel cleaner. They are still as beautiful as the day I took them out of the box. They also have required no sharpening since I got them. If stored and taken care of PROPERLY, these knives will never need replaced. They are every bit what I had hoped for and worth every penny spent. I highly recommend them to anyone who asks and even to those who don't!!! If you want knives you don't care about or you'll throw in the dishwasher, these are not for you. Take care of your knives, love them, respect them, and they will deliver excellent performance time and time again. ... show more

Been doing a lot of cooking lately. I was tired of my dull, rust spotted, cheap knives! I also didn’t want to spend a fortune. These knives are beautiful! And extremely SHARP. I like that the wood block is a coated/painted and black, not just plain wood. The steak knives are also sharp and serrated.

As someone just starting out and trying to save money post-grad, I love this knife set. It came with a variety of knives that meet all my culinary needs (though I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the birds beak knife). All knives came very sharp and were ready to use. They came well packaged and the knife block makes is stylish, fitting in well with on our black counters. That being said, this product is not necessarily "top of the line" and it shows—one of our steak knives developed some rusty discoloration after being used and washed several times (see photos). I'm not sure why it happened to this particular one, as we have used them fairly evenly—perhaps it got left in the dishwasher or in water at the bottom of the sink too long—but it definitely bumped back my satisfaction to 3.5-4 stars. I'm hoping I can scrub out the discolored areas or use some lemon juice and am, overall, still satisfied with this set for its price. ... show more

    • The best knife for many.
These knives are amazing and the set has everything you need: chef knife, santoku knife, carving knife, paring knife, bread knife and more. You’re literally only missing a Chinese chopper and a meat cleaver. These aren’t the best knives in the world, but for many users there isn’t a better knife. The first thing to note is that good knives need care. If you drop your several hundred dollar Zwillig J.A. Henckles in the sink to soak and forget them over night you may find a loose handle when you go to grab the knife. High end knives need to be cared for. These however are not expensive, and are all one piece. They hold an edge well and feel great in your hands and if one of the less serious cooks in your house leaves them soaking overnight your knives will be fine. Honestly the best knives for 99% of people who rather not have to spend time caring for yet another kitchen item. They’re attractive even if they don’t turn heads like my Tuo set, but also unlike my Tuo set - I’m not constantly and nervously looking over my shoulder when anyone else tried to use them. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Love the cuisinart brand! This is my 2nd set. What I most like about this particular set is that it’s not as heavy as the last set. Love that each knife is all once piece- you don’t have to worry about handles that can eventually detach. They are awesome! Only thing I’ve encountered with the old set is you must be careful with the tips. I was rough and used them to pry cans open, etc. things I should not have been doing but I did and the tips broke off. But they lasted yearssss before that eventually happened. So, here I am with my new amazing set! I wanted the same one piece manufacturing. It’s a plus that they are lighter and slimmer! - my achy hands thank you! RECOMMEND! ... show more

The set is heavy and sturdy.. it would make a great gift… I got it as a bday gift to my self… the block is easy to clean as well so that’s a plus.
