  • What did I do without this? Ruin ball joints!
I have two P2 platform Volvos: 2006 S60 2.5t sport package and XC90 3.2. The ball joints sort of easily slip into the XC with a tiny bit of help and by using the screws. The S60 has been a nightmare. They really only sell one size of ball joint for P2 cars, but the S60 knuckle is slightly smaller than XC90, so they are really really hard to insert. You can’t really use a press as the knuckle is an odd shape and it slips off plus, the press fittings either sit on the rubber boot or go over the bolt holes. I’ve done every hack I’ve seen online - cut a pipe from a hardware store, used sockets, etc. However, the joint is very very tight and is pushed in and sits at a slight angle. This tool helped me pound the thing into the knuckle perfectly. It turned the job into a tolerable one. I still couldn’t do it from underneath with the knuckle attached to the car (like I can with the XC90), but the only other option is to pay $ for someone else to do it. ... show more

  • Did the job on my P2 Volvo S60 T5
Probably a little pricey, but it did a great job, ensuring I installed the ball joints accurately and without damage.

  • Makes the job very quick !
Expensive, but it does make removal and installation very quick. I got a loaner slide hammer from my parts store to use with the adapters. Taking out the old ball joints and putting the new ones in takes about 5 minutes with this. Most of my time was spent actually setting up the car and pulling the control arms down (use a heavy duty ratchet strap, much easier than finagling with pry bars, it's the recommended procedure by Volvo). ... show more

  • Expensive, but works perfectly!
Was apprehensive to spend that much for a tool that only can be used to install balljoints...however it fits & works exaxtly as I hoped. Appears to be just like the Volvo tool spec'ed out in AllData. Used it on 6 so far & wish i bought it sooner. Just a note: the "remover" portion is only possible if you buy a seperate slidehammer to use w/the 3 supplied adaptors. ... show more

  • Does exactly what it should
It sucks having to buy specialized tools for something as simple as a ball joint but for P2 Volvos you absolutely have to have this. It does the trick and is well made. Install without this tool would be VERY difficult.

  • What. A breeze
Works just like the factory tool

  • A must have for Volvo XC90 ball joint R&R!
Worked perfectly! Made the ball joint install on my XC90 so simple! Glad I purchased this for the job, couldn't imagine doing the ball joints without this tool.

  • Works perfectly.
Worked like it should. Worth every penny. I wouldn't want to do the ball joints without this, definitely didn't want to spend the money on it but totally worth it.
