I bought this product in addition to an over the door hanging cervical traction device, as well as a laying down static neck stretching device, and liked this one the best all around! Surprisingly, this one provided the best quality stretch for me - it immediately cracked both my neck and my upper back as I was inflating it. It is also comfortable enough to wear while sitting and working, and I like that can also use it as sort of a brace to train myself to have better neck posture while doing desk work. I have a very bad habit of slouching with terrible forward neck head posture, and I love that this collar keeps my head up straight and pushes my shoulders down. It is great to wear for an extended period of time while multitasking, which was not possible at all with the other devices! I had expected the hanging over the door traction device to provide a stronger stretch, but it actually didn't. This inflatable device provides a surprisingly strong stretch, and I find that its stretch is more evenly distributed throughout the length of my neck. For me, the unexpected downside of the hanging device was that the stretch seemed to be concentrated too strongly at the base of my neck only, while not providing great relief in my mid-neck or upper back at all. I can only stretch in the hanging device for maybe a minute at most before my legs get tired, whereas I can keep this device on much longer. The laying down static neck stretching device wasn't even a contender. It didn't provide any sort of meaningful stretching or relief to me. It pretty much just felt like going to the hairdresser and laying your head back over the edge of a sink to get your hair shampooed. Not unpleasant, but no where near the amount of stretching or decompression as the other two devices. Overall, I liked this product the best by far! This neck traction device was recommended by my chiropractor after I suffered deteriorating C3-C4 vertebrae in my neck causing very severe nerve pain down my right arm and hand. I also have mild to severe numbness in my right hand and fingers. My left hand also has some numbness but not as severe as the right. It causes me to drop things. I've broken two glasses thus far due to the numbness and pain. My primary doctor put me back on Lyrica 3x a day to help combat the nerve pain. it helps but still not enough. Doctor also gave me 5% Lidocane patches to help was well. Since using this traction device I've had less pain, but it doesn't stop it completely. Sometimes I wear it several times a day. Sometimes several. Usually wearing it about 15-20 minutes at a time. It tends to give me relief for a few hours. It's fairly comfortable to wear, although I recommend using a straw if you're drinking anything to avoid spilling it on it. It is relatively easy to inflate, although with the bulb as a pump it takes time. It holds the inflation consistently. You can take the bulb off after you've put the small valve ball in place. One thing that bugs me is the velcro used to keep it on. The part that is directly on the device is the hard, rough velcro with sharp corders. The top one tends to get irritating because it scratches my chin. I often times have to readjust it or put something between it and my chin. Other than that, it's fine. I would recommend this neck traction device if you are having neck and nerve pain. My chiropractor recommended this over other types of neck traction, especially the one that hangs over the top of a door and uses something as a weight to stretch your neck. ... show more

I've noticed a better feeling from the first time I used this. Although the unit is good, I question the reasoning of the ball in tube to stop air flow. It creates a wear zone which will require a new hose some time. May I suggest a metal screw valve, like the one at the pump bulb. Otherwise, my marble stays where it is. ... show more

I bought a neck traction device on the recommendation of my nurse practitioner. This one is decent, but it would be helpful if it had a way to measure the amount of force it's putting on my neck. It's easy to over-inflate the device, which can cause muscle strain and increase the pain you are trying to relieve. Using it 5-10 minutes per time to help reduce neck pain/discomfort due to stenosis and arthritis. UPDATE: customer service has reached out to me and offered ways to fix this item. After that didn’t work they gave me an Amazon gift card for the troubles. Customer service A+ I wanted to return this item but gave it a try once and it was OK.. it felts good but looks silly. I went to try it again and air was leaking from the pump with the connections secure and the dial turned the correct way. Unfortunately it’s past the return date so I don’t know if I will be able to send it back. ... show more
