The media could not be loaded. I got the COSTWAY Blast Series 24000BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater for our big living room, and wow.. it’s a total life saver. It cools down our space super quick, even when it’s really hot outside. I have a large room, and this thing handles it so good! It’s strong enough to cool our entire living room, so it doesn’t matter if you’ve got a big area or not it still does the job. Setting it up was pretty easy. Once it’s on the wall, it just works. The remote control is easy to use too, so I can change the temp without getting up. And it’s also a heater, so I don’t have to worry when winter comes around next month. I don’t even need to buy a separate heater anymore, which is soooo handy. It’s supposed to be energy efficient, and my last bill wasn’t too crazy, so I think it’s doing its job there too. Plus, it’s quieter than other ACs I’ve tried. I can actually watch TV without cranking up the volume every time it runs. This is exactly what I needed and was worth every penny. Overall I was incredibly impressed with this air conditioning unit. The instructions were pretty decent and if you looked at some videos online most people should be able to do it without too much stress. The only issue I had, and that's not the fault of the manufacturer, is getting kinks in the line no matter how hard I tried. If I were to do it over I would buy a product you can find here that are basically flexible sticks that you put into the copper tubing and then when you bend them in tighter corners or what have you you will not risk kicking the copper. Despite the couple of kinks I had, I was able to get most of them fixed good enough to try the unit. And it has cooled very well ever since. The heating unit also works well but I live in a cold climate and Below about 40° I didn't see much point in using it. This probably saved me over $2,000 compared to having it done and I do it again in the heartbeat. ... show more

    • circuit board did not control temp from day 1

This unit is supposed to be able to hold a set temperature. It does not. Contacting tech support revealed u cannot talk directly to a tech. You tell the problem to a receptionist who then passes the info on. Its like whisper down the lane but worse. The responses were never in anyway helpful resulting in multiple contacts with no help at all. Finally, I sidestepped the provided customer service number and contacted Costway through their websites contact info. They responded that the unit will maintain a temp of 78 in cooling and I think 72 in heating. If that is the only temps it will automatically maintain, then that's not helpful. Mine does not automatically maintain any temp in any mode. I called an ac repair tech and he says the circuit board isn't functioning. Now we begin the process of trying to replace that. I'll add to this when I find out if the unit will maintain any set temp, and how Costway does at dealing with the circuit board. Update 10/17: Costway has no service team that could assist my AC guy in trouble shooting the problem. They also have no parts to repair the unit. They suggested submitting a warranty claim. I'll update this post. Update: Costway refunded the money after making multiple videos showing the unit malfunctioning even when the temp was off by ten degrees. They kept making excuses when it wasn’t functioning within 5 degrees of temp. They did not require me to return the broken unit. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 12000BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater, 20 SEER2 115V. The item came in two different boxes on the same day. Both boxes were packaged well and the shipment came much faster than expected via FedEx. The unit has a sleek and modern design that blends well with any room decor. Most of the build quality feels solid, with durable materials used throughout. It includes an indoor unit for air conditioning and heating, an outdoor compressor unit, and a remote control for convenient operation. There are no visible problems with the unit, as I've heard can be found on similar products. The primary reason for choosing this mini split system was its dual functionality—cooling and heating. I currently have a window unit that unfortunately is too loud to do calls or video classes etc, so am looking forward to this unit being much quieter. It should have much higher energy efficiency compared to my older window unit. I don't have any experience with HVAC systems, and so may opt for professional installation. From the manual, the instructions provided seem clear and the install looks like medium difficulty for the typical DIYer. As someone else has noted, the mounting bracket on the back of the indoor wall unit appears to be somewhat flimsy and on this model has holes for mounting to the studs on 12" centers, which is not the US standard of 16". This may require further reinforcement. Certainly a great price, hopefully it lasts! ... show more
