I was so excited to receive this pad! I slept on it for five nights and, each night woke several times drenched in sweat and having to change everything. The pad feels like it been replaced with bath water. When you first get into bed, the pad is nice and cool but it’s warm to touch after about 1/2 hour where you’ve slept while other areas remain cool.     • Maybe good for a single sleeper in a larger bed, but doesn't perform as described.
This mattress topper is interesting. When first placed on the bed it is noticeably cool; however, it quickly absorbs and retains your body heat. As a result, about an hour after laying on the topper, you need to change positions. Rather than radiating heat outward into the gel as described, heat is retained directly under your body. If you wind down in bed by reading or watching TV before going to sleep, that time in bed will warm the gel enough to be uncomfortable when it's time for lights out. If you're a hot restless sleeper and you don't mind changing sleeping positions frequently, there is a chance this could work for you under the following conditions. 1. You sleep alone in a larger bed (queen or king) 2. You don't mind waking up enough to change positions every hour or two If this is your situation, you could feasibly use this topper for relief. Each hour or two, you would simply swap positions to the other half of the bed. This would allow your former sleeping position to cool back to room temperature while you warmed the topper in the new position. If you don't sleep alone, it is unlikely that there will be enough room to roll around and find a cool spot throughout the night. It's a great concept, but for us, it fails in practice. ... show more

We have an older tempur-pedic mattress (we call temper-heated) that sleeps way too hot and miserable. Since summer is here, we’ve been mattress shopping. Just before we were about to spend $5K+ on a new mattress, we stumbled across this cooling gel topper. It came double boxed and the quality is outstanding. The fit is just perfect (ordered king size) and we laid an additional breathable bamboo mattress pad over the top, then the flat sheet. It’s only the first night but so far we’re very impressed and hopefully just saved lots of money! The pad isn’t too thick but it’s very heavy and effective. We may try it without the bamboo pad on the top of it to see if there is any difference. We will update our review after more nights. Update 7/8/2019 - We have now had this 30 days and decided to keep it. It made a huge difference. It is cool when getting into bed and will increase to a neutral temp after time under your body but never gets uncomfortably warm. We keep the inside temp of our home around 74 degrees. Before this topper we would have to drop the temp down to 68 degrees to stay comfortable all night. This will definitely pay for itself over time. ... show more

    • Pretty Good, But Don't Expect Miracles
I bought the queen topper, as the gel looks similar to what is on the technogel bed that I wanted to buy. My latex mattress I settled on it is a little warm. So for summer I thought this might be good. It is really nice and cold for a few hours, after that, I wouldn't say it is hotter than normal, but just not the coolness during the first part of the night. It was a little too chilly for my partner, so when put it under two thin fitted sheets and it is still pretty nice and cool. Was thinking of buying a twin for my side of the queen bed to have directly under me. I do find that it really helps with my inflamed joints. I don't have hot flashes but I have a lot of back and neck problems and the coolness of this seems to help with the inflammation. So I am happy about that. Gel pads like these are expensive in general, so I think this pad is decent at a good price point. I would recommend and def purchase again for other beds or one more layer under me. ... show more

Exactly what I've been looking for. Helps tremendously for keeping me cool when I get hot flashes. Really comfortable. Did not want to spend a $1000 on mattresses like Purple when I only needed a gel topper. I have no issues at all with this product.

    • Adds comfort as well as cooling
Had it about 3 weeks > So far it does what it says it would do. Provides some cooling effect on top of our tempurpedic mattress as well as another layer of comfort. Value is there where its priced I believe though I have not tried cheaper ones.

    • It allows you to fall asleep on a cool bed
It is true what others are saying about the heating up, but you may not want to stay cold all night. Usually as I fall asleep, my body temperature drops and I start feeling cooler naturally, so a warmer bed feels comfortable. The quality is very good. I have cats and worried that their nails will puncture it, but so far so good. It is completely intact. It also does not shift much once I lay it on top of the mattress cover and the other side is some kind of warm 'terry cloth-like' material, so I assume that we will turn it around for the winter and we will not be freezing in January. I thought that was a brilliant idea, because I did not want to have to store it in a closet during the winter. BTW, it is made by a veteran-run company, if anybody is interested. ... show more

    • Don't waste your money
Complete waste of money. The gel is cool when open to the air. When compressed by your body it absorbs your body heat and becomes quite warm. The heat is trapped in the plastic pockets and retained within the gel. I will return it for a refund. Very disappointing.
