  • Durable
Color: Wheat Size: 6' x 15'
Where I live the sun really eats up fabrics and plastics. This fabric holds up to the sun. I bought some of this years ago and it is still going strong.

  • Good product
Color: Wheat Size: 6' x 15'
Used this with Coolaroo clips for shade on side of rv. Super product. Stands up to high winds. Helps keep rv cool but sheer enough for light to get thru.

  • Used for outdoor shower privacy panels/ curtains
Color: Wheat Size: 6' x 15'
So it took me a while to figure out exactly how I wanted to use this so I’ve been sitting on the roll of fabric for over a year now and finally had an “a-ha” moment! We just had our pool redone with new decking and fencing. We’ve always had an outdoor shower area but this year I needed to build one that was temporary and did not want to drill or nail anything into the new wood panels we just put in. So I remembered that I had this awesome sunshade fabric stored away in the shed. Pulled it out and it saw it was perfect for making durable, outdoor shower curtains/ privacy panels for my temporary shower. It was so easy to use and I can’t believe I didn’t think of this use before! These panels I made will definitely hold up and I’m sure I’ll be able to reuse them for next years shower as well. Here’s how I modified the fabric to make the shower curtains / privacy panels. 1) measured off two pieces per my specific needs, cut 2) made a no-sew hem line on the raw edges I would be using as the “top” of the curtain/ panel using fabric fusion glue. Folded over for an approximate 1/2” hem, applied glue working in small sections, using a Fabric / quilting clip to hold into place while drying. The sides were already seemed as I cut them to turn out that way. Let dry overnight and removed clips the next day. The fabric fusion did an excellent job adhering creating a faux hem. Very happy with how that turned out. I was a little worried because the sunshade fabric is a a lot thicker and more coarse than normal fabric but my fears were unfounded. 3) attached the panels to my diy pvc shower rod using the metal curtain clips. The kind that you can slip on the rod and then has a clip where you can attach it where you want to. I decided on this method as I didn’t want to weaken the sunshade by putting holes in it for traditional curtain shower rings. Plus I could manipulate it after the fact if I didn’t like how it looked. Also it was just easier and took less time. I slipped the curtain clips on first and then hung up my sunshade shower curtain/ privacy panels where I wanted them. Easy peasy! They look way better than those cheap plastic shower curtains I usually use plus they’ll last so much longer. The plastic ones usually end up tearing or ripping in a rain storm and I have no fear that will happen. If they last the swim season I’ll be perfectly happy with that! * once I got them up I decided not to hem the bottom of the sunshade fabric. I had originally thought that I would need to add some weight of some sort to keep them from blowing around but they are perfectly fine as is and in my opinion and experience creating an outdoor pool shower for the last 12 years, this fabric will be heavy enough to sustain itself and doesn’t need anything to help it stay in place. We haven’t had a good storm yet so I can’t be 100% certain but my experience tells me they’ll be just fine. I also thought the raw cut edges would bother me (think OCD) but surprisingly it actually adds to the charm of an outdoor shower. I’ll definitely be purchasing more of this when the time comes to replace the ones I made. Please see my pictures for more explanation as to how I used the fabric. ... show more

  • Stay Cool
Color: Wheat Size: 6' x 15'
This is working out great until I get my room darkening shades.I ordered this coolaroo shade as a temporary solution for the hot Florida sun coming in my windows all day long.I liked the reviews so I got it.I stapled it on a couple of 1×2s & screwed it to my facia above the windows & let it hang. The room is 15 degrees cooler by the window & it is more shaded now.It lets some light thru but not bad.I will move it somewhere else when my room darkening shades come in.Hope this helps you decide. ... show more

  • Excellent solution to sun-drenched patio
Color: Wheat Size: 6' x 15'
This is the second set of patio curtains I've made using this Coolaroo sunshade material. The previous material is still in good condition, but I wanted to change the style and remake with some improvements to style. Wheat color is nice, not too light or too dark. Provides a great sunblock. Quality is great. The raw ends of the fabric were a bit uneven. I laid the fabric out on our tiled floor and to measure and cut. Only had to remove about an inch to even up one end, but I expected this to be the case. The fabric was easy to sew on using a standard sewing machine needle. I easily hemmed the bottom and top to create a neat, clean look for the patio and to provide the option of hanging the curtains using a rod pocket and curtain rod if desired. Instead I've found that using clip on curtain rings on the metal curtain rod works best, because the fabric is somewhat stiff. Very satisfied. The previous curtain fabric has lasted over 10 years+, even in the brutal west sun-facing patio of the New Mexican high desert. ... show more

  • Some helpful tips
Color: Wheat Size: 12' x 50'
We used this to cover a pergola. It was 9 inches too wide and way longer than we needed. I used three tables, end to end, to lay out the fabric. I started with the sides. The selvages were easy to fold up, 4.5 inches on each side, by measuring, folding, and clipping about 1 foot apart (I used quilting clips but you could use pins or binder clips). Using a small rolling pin I flattened the fold between the clips, then moved the clips a bit and finished flattening the crease. Match the tiny stripes in the fabric to be sure you are squaring up. This crease will really hold once rolled. Make sure the fabric is on a piece of scrap plywood and apply E6000 glue between the selvage and the fabric. Glue will get under the fabric, hence the reason for the wood below. Don't use cardboard. Place another piece of wood all along the top of the glued selvage edge (I used scrap 2 x 4s). Let dry about 18 hours. Pull the fabric off the wood. It will stick. I used luan plywood and some of the surface came off, but I was able to pick it off the fabric easily. For this reason, I would recommend plain old plywood. Repeat for the second selvage side. The cut edges are more challenging as they fray. I needed 14 feet of length. On the factory cut end (which was NOT straight) I used a try square and lined it up with the prepared selvage edge, making a mark with a sharpie. I continued to use the square, lining it up with the tiny lines in the fabric and drawing my line for 14 feet. When I got to the end, I was still square - YEAH!! I cut along the line with a rotary cutter to prevent fraying, then repeated the gluing technique above, making a 2 inch hem. On the final side, I measured 14 feet + 2 inches from both hemmed ends and again used the square and the tiny lines to get a straight line. Lastly, I put grommets through the double folds on the ends to attach bungee cords. We weave the cover over and under the slats of the pergola due to wind issues. Hope this helps! ... show more
