I like that the pawls catch both sides of the ratchet, which isn't always the case. This ‎Senkeyfe come-along is very much like a ‎Vopepzg brand come-along on Amazon at the same $30 base price. This one, however, currently has a 15% off coupon, making the real price $25.50. That other doesn't have a coupon, but has 12' of cable, rather than the 7' of this one, and is said to weigh 4 oz more. Longer is ordinarily better. I suspect that aside from the cables the two units are essentially the same, and are perhaps made in the same factory. Some customers have complained that the longer cable in the other one arrived crammed into the winch and was very difficult to pull out. Perhaps there was too much of it. This winch also appears to be essentially identical to one that is sold at a chain of tool stores that sells items made in China. That winch is priced at $25 without shipping to your door. There is no disclosure on the Amazon page as to where this tool is made, nor on the tool itself, but the seller is a Chinese company. Overall probably what you might come to expect from a foreign no name brand heavy tool. Something like HF but a bit worse and without a warranty. Will get the job done for average non-commercial use but the fit and finish is a bit lacking for sure. Pulling the cable out on this claims a 'one hand operation' which is total nonsense. Takes almost 3 hands and even then the cable is very hard to pull out. Once everything is attached it does the job so not a ton to complain about. By the look of it I wouldn't trust it for daily or even frequent use but it beats not having one. ... show more

A good ‘come-along’ winch is always a good tool to have access to when needed. I can’t say this is the best come-along I’ve ever used, but it did do the job I needed to accomplish. The cable pulls out about 7’ from the winch and has strong crimped connections holding the hook in place. Some of the metal clips and releases are very thin sheet metal and I don’t know how well they’ll hold up over time. Examples are the safety spring latch on the hook and also the spring trigger that releases the claws. When I first got this I pulled the cable out the full length and then wound it up with no problems, but when I took it out to my utility trailer to use it to straighten up a bent support, I could not unwind it. I thought maybe the wind on the cable was too thick, but after a lot of head scratching I loosened the reel axle nut and the reel came loose and operated as it should. I think that the axle bolt might have tightened up when I did the first test. I’ll have to keep an eye on it to see if that continues, or worst, the axle bolt loosens while in use. Overall it works as it’s supposed to, after an adjustment, but it doesn’t seem to be very precisely assembled. ... show more

This come along is just a 2-ton model so it is smaller and lighter than the 5 ton counterparts that I have experience with. I am pleased to see that the ratchet and pawl are not cast metal but rather stamped steel. This is good because cast metal will snap while stamp steel will bend but not break. This unit should be adequate for light jobs like squaring up a wall on a construction site, stretching a fence, or pulling a light load up onto a trailer. There's only 7 ft of cable so there's not a lot of take up but it can make the force. It's a budget friendly and compact come along. ... show more

This is a decently built come along for light to medium duty at 2 tons. Metal construction and steel cable seems able to hold up to such jobs. I like that it is a dual gear and pawl system and includes the safety clip on both hooks.

Dual ratchet sprockets. they are cast not laminated. The frame and handle look little lighter gauge steel than some others I have had. I had to add good bit oil to get everything moving correctly.
