My spouse is around 225 pounds at 5’5” and has had nothing but great things to say about the functionality and comfort of the chair. First, Ill say that this chair offers good quality for the price. It's sturdy and stylish. Putting it together was straightforward and quick. Took me about 20 minutes. I purchased the higher quality inline skate wheels and I'm glad I did. These after market wheels are an essential upgrade in my opinion. Not only do they roll better, but they won't scratch your wood floor like the stock wheels would. I highly recommend spending a little extra for these wheels for a superior experience. Now the bad... The packaging for this chair is terrible. Mine arrived with both the top and bottom of the box open. In fact, I'm fairly certain this was a return item that was resold as new. The poorly affixed packing tape was the kind of cheap packing tape that you buy at Office Depot. My box was obviously resealed by someone in with little experience in how to seal a box properly. Upon examining the contents, I found that all the parts were inside. I'm amazed that everything was there. When I picked up the box on my porch, the contents spilled out of the bottom. I stood there looking at a pile of chair parts. Since nothing was missing or broken, I went ahead and assemble it. I decided to keep it because it appears to be unused and in like new condition. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm a BIG man with a BIG ass and this chair fits me good. ... show more

Heavy Duty is the best way to describe this chair. Every part used to put this chair together is robust. It's insanely comfortable, too. I was skeptical that the chair was going to be as advertised, so I was surprised it is every bit as good as advertised. The price was decent at $250'ish (that's with the shipping). The only issue with my chair is the release mechanism to allow the chair to lean back doesn't work. I have to manually press in the metal bar to lean back. Mine might need adjusted or something. Chair is moderately comfortable, butt pad is pretty thin and gets painfully flat after awhile so I use a pillow. It's all good. Chair is very sturdy. The problem is the front of the seat has a strange angle to it. like if you sit down but aren't far enough back you just shoot onto you ass on the floor. Now, this may be funny in a movie, but on a "BIG & TALL" chair with a high weight rating, this is just dangerous. After the 4th time it shot out from under me (on it's very smooth and strong wheels) and I land on my ass on the floor with the chair right behind me I gave up. Going to put it in a garage sale or something. For such an expensive design you would think that it would be designed so that you don't either get it right or die with a shattered coccyx. ... show more

    • Attractive, comfortable "heavy duty" chair that failed after 5 weeks
I have two confessions to make prior to beginning my review of this chair: 1) while I purchased this chair on 12-February-2024, I did not actually assemble the chair until 22-April-2024 (i.e., I missed the 30-day return window which was my fault); and 2) I am a big guy – I stand 6 feet (1.8 m) and I weigh 330 pounds (150 kg). I was excited to see that Colamy made an office chair with a stated weight capacity of 500 pounds (227 kg). I found the chair relatively easy to assemble, attractive, and for the first 5 weeks – comfortable with great lumbar support. Unfortunately, during the 6th week, the chair began to fail which means, even if I had assembled the chair immediately after receiving it, I still would have missed the 30-day return window. The failures included the fact that the chair would no longer raise up even if I was out of the chair and pulling up on the seat and, arguably worse, the chair began to wobble with me seated in it almost as if I were trying to balance on the tip of a pole. Granted, I am heavy, but my weight is still considerably lighter than the stated weight capacity of 500 pounds (227 kg). I wonder what might happen if someone that weighs, for example, 450 pounds (204 kg) were to try using this chair. It is most disappointing because I did like the comfort and appearance of the chair before it failed. PROS • Relatively easy to assemble. • Attractive and comfortable, at least until the chair fails. • Adjustable lumbar support seems to work well. • Size accommodates large people but, unfortunately, cannot accommodate the stated weight capacity. CONS • Failed after 5 weeks. • Apparently cannot accommodate people even if their weight is less than stated weight capacity. • The chair can no longer be raised or lowered, even when pulling up or sitting down. • Regardless of whether or not the tilt mechanism is locked, I feel like I am balancing on a pole with the movement is side-to-side as well as back-and-forth. ... show more
