i never used bar clamps because i hated the old ones you had to squeeze together. when I'm lifting at home rather the a gym, i like to be a little more careful with the weights. these work great and they're not a s pain to take on and off. love the color options.

I bought these to replace the cheap metal "spring collars" that came with my barbell. I HATE the sound of metal ridges scraping on one another - for some reason it gives me chills - I can't be the only one right? The plastic seems kinda cheapish. But what I really don't like is the "release tab" you have to push to undo the clamp. I get it - "extra safety" - but I've only ever used these types of collars with no lock (one handed operation 100% of the time). Sometimes you're loading plates and you forgot to take the collar off - the lock is facing the "wrong" direction, and you can't undo it with one hand. So now you have to put the plate back down & use 2 hands to move forward. First-world problems, I know. Just my opinion. ... show more
