First is can move an incredible amount of air for the size, and the motor is much quieter than the old style ones. It has three buttons to control it, power on/off which you hold for a few seconds to actuate, a heat selector and a blower speed selector. You have three speeds available for the blower and a good range from gentle to very fast. The heat has three levels or can be turned off. There is a display on the back of the head to show which levels of heat and blower speed you have selected. A concentrateor cone is included and it attaches magnetically to the output. The controls are on the back of the handle, so you are not interruption your flow by accidently changing the speed or temperature. This is a very nice entry level blow dryer if you’re looking to upgrade from the big box store style of dryer. This dryer is the newer short head/longer handle design. It comes with a brushless motor, which in my opinion delivers more power with less noise. The concentrator attachment is magnetic, so you can easily clip it on or off and spin or turn it as you need during styling. The selling point of this blow dryer for me was the fact that it truly has three heat settings and three speed settings, if you’ve never had three options of each I suggest you start having three options because it will change the way you dry your hair. There’s an included bag to keep the blow dryer and concentrator attachment in so that you can easily travel with it, which is much appreciated. Speaking of easy travel the cord that is included while again in my opinion is fairly short, it does have a cable management tie and little details like that mean a lot to me. The digital read out display is perfect for your needs and intuitive to understand. The buttons were a little awkward and took a bit of getting used to as I kept accidentally hitting the heat button and changing which temperature I was in. The power button you have to hold down for three seconds both to turn it on and turn it off, which I found a little unusual, but was fairly easy to get used to. This dryer has a heat cycle option where it will switch between hot air and a cool shot which is one of the things I kept accidentally setting the blow dryer to do without meaning it, but it stays in the temperature settings for longer than any others I’ve previously tried. I tell you this because I wasn’t understanding that it was doing that. I suggest if you’re questioning which setting you’re on, just hold it pointing toward the floor in front of you for a few seconds and see if the readout on the back of it cycles into another temperature because it could be on the cycling setting not one of the steady temperature settings. This did an amazing job of blowing my hair dry very quickly. For me frizz isn’t usually a huge thing and drying my hair is a very quick and painless process so I can’t speak to how this would work for the curly girls out there, but I was very happy with. The highest wind speed on this was almost too high for my long hair because it has that much power behind it. Thankfully having three speed settings you can change the setting to suit your needs. The magnet on this was nice and strong although you do have to make sure the concentrator is properly aligned as the magnet is strong enough that it will connect to the front of the blow dryer without being properly seated, and you don’t want that as your hair will get caught in it, ask me how I know. The one thing about this that did surprise me was that the air intake is in the back of the head of the blow dryer and if you look at my included pictures, you’ll see it is almost invisible and very hard to even tell that it’s there so be aware and make sure it doesn’t get your hair caught. This came with a brush in order to clean that space out so that there is no buildup of dust and debris. I don’t know how efficient it will be over the long-term but for now it seems like a smart and useful tool as long as it never gets lost. If you were interested in dipping your toe into the waters of the more high end to blow dryers, this is definitely a good starting point with a decent number of options for you to decide if this is the way you wanna go with your blow drying experience at home. I have only used the old type of hair dryers and this is for sure an upgrade. My hair dries so much faster and it is good quality which means it will last a long time. There are multiple heat settings and it is powerful. It’s much quieter than normal hair dryers as well.
