Description

The Champion Power Equipment 12003 2000-lb. ATV/UTV Winch Kit includes everything you need to start winching, including a mounting channel, a roller fairlead and a remote control. With a rated line pull of 2000 pounds, mount this winch on your ATV or side by side with the mounting channel to quickly harness the strength of its 1-horsepower (12-volt) DC permanent magnet motor. The 49-foot by 5/32-inch galvanized, super-duty aircraft cable is less prone to fraying, even when used in highly abrasive terrain, such as in rocks, mud, or sand. This incredibly strong cable is guided onto the 1.2 by 2.9-inch drum through the reliable roller fairlead to maximize the life of the cable. The planetary gear system along with the free-spooling clutch and handlebar- mounted remote control offer excellent control while winching. Designed with your safety in mind, this winch features dynamic braking of the winch drum so you’ll have the stopping power you need for each job. With a gear reduction ratio of 153:1, the winch boasts a line speed of 3.3 feet per minute with a full load, and 10.5 feet per minute with no load. Accompanied by the heavy- duty clevis hook and handy strap, this compact and lightweight tool is anything but lightweight when it comes to power. Offering much more than a motor and a spool of rope, the Champion 2000-lb. Winch Kit is a necessary tool for any situation you might encounter..

  • I really like this winch
Pattern Name: Winch Kit Style: 3000 lb + ATV/UTV + Roller
This winch appears to be well-made. I have a 2016 Honda that I stuck a HarborFreight winch on. I immediately had issues with that and did not want to go that route again. This winch is beefy and I got it with a handlebar mount which I actually put on the front rack. Installation was a breeze taking about an hour altogether. Price was fair no complaints and no issues. ... show more

  • Outstanding winch at its price point
Pattern Name: Winch Kit Style: 3000 lb + ATV/UTV + Roller
Bought this winch for a 2002 Honda TRX350 Rancher four wheeler. It will be used primarily in conjunction with the snow plow attachment for the unit to raise & lower the blade, but will also see some use as a "log dragger." Definitely impressed with the packaging for the unit as the box was both taped and stapled to keep everything together while it was being physically abused during delivery transit. It arrived with numerous scuffs but no penetration of the packaging. Also impressed with the owner's manual. The unit may have been manufactured in China, but the owner's manual was written by someone with an exceptional command of the English language, unlike numerous other products I've purchased where the owner's manuals / instructions left me scratching various parts of my anatomy trying to figure out what they are talking about. Installation instructions were clear with good illustrations. My only "beef" would be with the physical mounting of the winch to the mounting bracket I used. The supplied bracket was not usable for my application and it was not possible to mount the winch to the mounting bracket before installing on the vehicle (as suggested in the instructions). So, one is left with the task of trying to install a 20+ lb. winch on a slope, holding it in place while trying to line up and install bolts. What would have been so much easier would be to have two of the mounting points be studs which could be pre-installed on the winch and then used to hold / suspend the winch in the proper orientation while the other bolts are installed. There is not a lot of room under one of these four-wheelers to manipulate the winch, the bolts, and the mounting bracket slope at the same time. Maybe a minor nit, but it sure was an enormous time consumer getting the winch physically attached to the mounting bracket. Other than that, no complaints and it certainly wouldn't affect whether or not I would recommend the winch. I definitely would. Great product overall. ... show more

  • Good ATV winch for the Money
Pattern Name: Winch Kit Style: 2000 lb + ATV/UTV + Roller
I did a lot of research/shopping around online for winches before settling on this one. So far I have only done one pull, but it was a very long pull (about 70-80 feet) and it was uphill and the weight was easily over 1200 lbs. Anyhow, the winch performed pretty well for this pull, although I did have to stop twice to let it cool off because it was getting too warm. Considering the load and length of pull I think this little winch did great. You can find some cheaper winches online, but not by much and they generally look more generic and more cheaply built. I only gave it a 4 start rating because I don't like the handlebar control, I think it should just have a cable remote like the one on my truck winch. Basically the control is in the middle of your power cord. So you have about 4 feet of power cord that leads from your battery into the handlebar controller, then another 4 feet or so that leads from the controller into your winch. I installed this winch on my Skandic SWT utility snowmobile and I bought it for logging with the snowmobile in the winter. I logged cedar on my land all this winter and I needed a winch mostly for when I got stuck on my way up one particularly steep hill. I have a youtube video of my pull with this winch (search "Winching log and snowmobile" on youtube if you want to see a video of the winch in action). Pros Price Freespooling clutch 50FT Cable Comes with roller fairlead and plate Automatic load holding break Solid construction Performs well so far Fairly compact and lightweight for what it is Cons Handlebar mount controller Battery/controller cables are not very long (about 8 feet or so total from battery to controller to winch). I will update this review if I have any problems with the winch in the future, although I probably won't use it again until next winter. ... show more

  • Champion 3000 Lb. ATV/UTV Winch Kit
Pattern Name: Winch Kit Style: 3000 lb + ATV/UTV + Roller
I purchased this to install on my UTV. I am an owner of a Champion Generator and it has never failed me so the brand stands for good quality to me. After reading reviews for this winch and watching the price for it, I decided to go with it. It took some extra effort to run the wires for this but I got it done. The instructions are mostly for an ATV but with a bit of logic and reconfiguration on my own part, I was able to get it hooked up to my 2018 Mule SX 4x4. I didn't need to use the mounting channel due to using the the winch mount for my Mule SX. It installed perfectly to the specific winch mount for my UTV. The remote could use a bit of extra slack to mount on the Mule but other than that, it worked out great. After installation, I moved on to try it out on moving an old pine log weighing about 700 pounds and about 8 feet in length. I was unable to move this with just hooking it to the mule and in 4WD because of the weight and the log being very wet. I hooked the log to the Champion winch and began to pull it out of the woods and started to pull. The winch bogged down a little but after a couple seconds, this log finally started to move. I got the log it to a point to where I was able to hook it to the back of my Mule SX and finish moving it to where I needed it to be. Overall, this winch proved to be powerful enough for what I needed to do and I feel confident that it will suffice for the work I need to do around the house and farm. In conjunction with this, I also purchased an 8000 LB. Champion snatch block in order to add a little extra pull and be able to get things where I need them to go. I would definitely purchase this again as well as recommend it to someone looking for a decent winch for an ATV/UTV that will not break the bank. ... show more
