We added some birdseed with peanuts since that attracts our mice the most. Within an hour I heard one trying to figure out how to get in and was worried the mice would be too stupid to figure it out. In the morning, we had caught 3! Released in a wooded area a few miles away. Could not be simpler! I put a folded paper towel inside, cut to size, because in the past with smaller traps, mice have peed and pooped all over the place (and themselves! ew) and it was difficult to clean. I purchased this to deal with some rats in my backyard. The title mentioned rats, so I assumed it was big enough for both rats and mice. When it arrived, I realized just how small this is and it's really designed for mice, not rats. The product title should not have the word "rat" in it as it is VERY misleading. The openings are very small, combined with the tension flapper entry, a rat would not even fit. I'm still holding onto these in the event I do start finding mice in my yard or someone I know needs them. ... show more

We set 6 up around the house and garage where we had problems with mice. We caught a few on their own and then 8 in one trap. These traps are easy to open to clean, rebait, and release mice. I really like the visibility into the trap that this design of these traps provide.

I used the traps without the glue sheets because I wanted to be humane. I caught the mice and was able to release them without any harm done to the mice. They were really easy to use too. They will only catch mice and small rats.

A local pest expert recommended these. Let me tell you, they work! While it’s a little more expensive than alternative styles, it more than pays for itself with the number of mice it can catch as well as how long the trap lasts. Some tips... -Definitely get the clear top ones as opposed to the ones that are all metal so you can see what’s going on in there before you pick it up and open it! -There’s a mechanism to let mice and but not out and I haven’t had any issues with mice escaping so I’m not sure how necessary the sticky pads are. If you have a smart mouse you might need to use them but I would rather catch and release away from my house so I tend to avoid them altogether. Bonus- the sticky pads actually work well for catching spiders, crickets, and other insects in a damp basement! -Dry bait (think trail mix) and peanut butter have worked really well. Peanut butter can get pretty messy when mice get in there and strew it all around so I ended up gluing a bottle cap inside to keep the peanut butter contained. -I clean/disinfect with odoban once in a while. It also helps to keep the hinges clean (i.e.) keeps the traps working. -And just in case you’re wondering…they work for rodents up to the size of a small chipmunk. ... show more

We put these around the house and garage and we have caught about 8 mice, I put poison in them so they eat it and die INSIDE the trap, then I dispose of them and then they won't cause harm to another animal

I put some peanut butter in there and it caught a mouse overnight. I released it a ways away from my house. No more have come since then. However I would never use the sticky tape thus came with! The whole purpose is to humanely put them somewhere else, not let them die a slow painful death on sticky tape! ... show more
