I needed to have the option to be able to add smaller incremental weight to my current 245 lbs set. I started lifting again to lose weight and get into better shape overall. Not to mention to gain some strength as well. I am by no means wanting to get those serious gains, but rather to tone and strengthen is my goal. This set of iron plates fit that bill nicely at a great price point as well. The finish is very nice, it has a slight sheen to it compared to my existing plates.
