Used it for one trip so far. Holds a lot of gear, stable enough. On the return trip the sky’s opened up for at least 2 hours and everything stayed bone dry, to my surprise.

Easy to attach to the rooftop. Holds a lot of items for travel. Travels well and securely for hours. We have not traveled in the rain with it yet, so hopefully everything inside will stay dry when that happens. We just used our topper on a 14 hour trip. It held 4 large suitcases and a small bag. Just what we needed. There were bugs on it after the trip which cleaned off easily. We folded it up to store until next time. Very happy!

I bought this for my daughter's Toyota 4Runner (stock roof racks with stock crossbars). It fit perfectly between the crossbars when moved to the ends. She put an amazing amount of stuff into the carrier, but some ends weren't entirely full. Because this bag design has straps that pull down from the TOP, you can get the carrier tied very tight even if it's not full. (Some place the straps under the zipper, which makes it flop like mad. I had some leftover 3-mil plastic sheeting with which we wrapped her stuff, just in case. She drove through some rainstorms on the trip (driven rain), and had the carrier sitting on top of the truck for three weeks (standing rain), and the carrier didn't leak at all. Works great at storing stuff, but definitely not water proof. Hit maybe an hour of rainfall on drive home, annd upon opening, lots of water inside. Zippers were fully sealed and Velcro was attached, indicating water leakage from multiple points or through material. I really liked how easy it was to use and install. I used it for a long road trip of mine and was surprised by how much it held. I didn't have any problems with it at all during the drive and I woupd recommend this for anyone who needs some extra car space.

    • Zipper broke second time zipper used

I was initially impressed with the quality. Was going on a lone drive for a family reunion. Packed all my stuff in, tied it to the top of the renegade and off we went. I had no issues with water getting in, no issues with anything... Until I packed all my stuff back in for the return home only to have the zipper break in two! I was horrified. My brother in law works with metal and he said all the bubbles in the zipper metal showed that the zipper was not made properly and was the reason the zipper broke. Fortunately the bag has 2 zippers so I was still able to close the bag and make it home without any issue. Just a tad disappointed that for the price the zipper broke literally the second time I zipped the bag. and for anyone wondering- NO there was not undue pressure on the zipper. It simple broke in 2 while I was zippering the bag closed. ... show more
