    • Minor problem, but great trick... UPDATE
Spoiled rotten by years using trucker-grade Garmin GPS, I currently use an iOS based navigation system proprietary to the employer. Sigh. Each day brings with it a different vehicle assignment, and I never know if there will be a spot to hold my iPad Mini in position, but I do know there will be a cup-holder, so… here I am. I keep my iPad Mini in a thick protective OtterBox, but the jaws of this device can still grip it securely from either the long or the short sides, with access to power either way. Of course, it rotates, so it really does not matter which orientation I use. In addition, since I carry all my daily gear in a backpack, it turns out this is has a use there, too. That is, I can stuff it inside the backpack to protrude and hold my iPad above and outside it— as a mobile workstation when out of the vehicle. As a consequence, I went from “I really do not want to have to lug this thing around every day” to “Oh, this is nice to have with me all the time.” Good job. UPDATE: The little rubber pads holding it securely in (most) cup-holders, fell off, one by one, causing it to ride up, and topple over. I was trying to think of some similar rubber I might cut to fit and glue on to replace, but (literally) stumbled upon a better solution. I say "literally stumbled upon," because I stumbled and broke two bones in my foot. I had some leftover athletic tape which I used to wrap my foot as it healed. It is the stretchy, crepey kind of athletic wrap which has no adhesive, but clings to itself. I thought it might have the right qualities, so gave it a try. I wrapped the tape around the prongs, three or four times around, bit not too toghtly, and found that the prongs could be expanded and retracted as normal, but held inside the cup holders better than the original rubber pads. Works perfectly. UPDATE: It broke. But buying it again. Turns out, reviews of most popular options indicate they all break. Also, my crepe-athletic tape wrap worked well to replace the rubber pads which came off soon after began using. But, a common red "shop rag" has been even more successful, and easily fills the gap for those extra-large diameter cup holders. All my passengers who see it, ask about it and want one. Daily use, constantly changing vehicles, holding my iPad Mini. I got my $25 worth over the life of the first one. ... show more

This item was perfect for my tablet to listen to audiobooks on my daily commute to and fro from work. Update: The device broke after daily usage since April. I guess it's not designed to be used every day commutes🤔

    • Cheap, unstable and easily broken.
I bought one of these for my iPad Pro for my work truck and as soon as I pulled it out of the box, it was broken. No big deal, Amazon returned it and sent me a new one. When the second one showed up, all seemed well until I attempted to install it in the cup holder in my truck. As I was starting to spin the base portion that extends the locking “lugs” outwards, it clicked and loosened up. I gave up and decided not to even try buying another.     • Finally a Smartphone Mount that Works!
My husband and I have bought and tried out several mounts for our phones for use in the car. This one actually works! It adjusts to fit in just about any auto cup holder and can be tilted to just the right angle for viewing. The only negative was trying to plug in the phone after getting it placed in the jaws of the mount. We finally learned to thread the plug into the opening at the bottom of the mount, THEN put the phone the in mount after it was plugged in. We have not tried to put anything like a tablet in the mount, but my smartphone and my husband's iPhone work great. ... show more

I was excited to use this to hold my 12.9 inch iPad, which I prefer for GPS navigation. Very quickly I noticed the neck of the holder does not extend, and since my cupholder is right next to the gearshift, the tablet blocks access to it. A taller gooseneck or holder with elbows is necessary.     • Practical
I have searched for phone holder for my vehicles, either for the vent or for the windshield. The vents always block the flow of the AC, and not practical in that respect. If your vehicle is a car, the amount of air vents seems to be limited. For the windshield, either don't hold tight to the glass, and when it does and falls again leave a ring spot that sometimes its hard to clean. This one, fits just fine in my Toyota Highlander! I have 4 cup holders in the front area. I have it near the charger and the AUX connectors. But its height and rotation flexibility is GREAT! For the read trips, I use my tablet for the GPS, and even with my phone at times in the city. I really like it!!! I truly recommend it for anyone, and even for the car owners....     • Really excellent product.
I've tried a few similar products - they've never really worked out. I've been using this one for a few months, now - it's a beauty. It holds firmly - no jiggling, except for the movement of the car. Both my Android tablet and my smartphone fit perfectly. Also, I have two cup-holders, one behind the other - no adjustments needed, it's simple to twist the holder a little to allow use of the 2nd holder for a my coffee - doesn't lose the tension.
