Size: 10 Pound Color: Grey
I bought 12 of these 10 lb standard plates to fill out my dumbbell set. The baked finish and 3-point design makes for easy handling. These will last my lifetime. With three to a side, I end up with a reasonably accurate 65 lb dumbbell, +/- 1.5 pounds overall. But to add another 10lb plate to each side (4 total at 80+ pounds) depends on the dumbbell handles I use. I have a really old set of quality rubber handle chrome dumbbells which allow me to make a a pair of 85lb dumbbells (4 ten pound plates to a side, plus weight of handle (approx. 5lbs). The rubber is malleable and allows for a bit of compression without the cracking and crumbling of the synthetic-rubber & chrome handles now on the market. I hate those things, and they always deteriorate, leaving me with a near useless chrome corkscrew. Although, I do have a pair of solid chrome knurled dumbbell handles, which are great but have dedicated room for only so many plates. They are what they are yet will last forever. Anyhow, 65-85 pound dumbbells became inadequate for improving my chest press and bent rows, so I decided to buy some Cap Barbell 25lb standard plates. The diameter and thickness of those 25 pounders worked out and didn't make for an overly cumbersome dumbbell(they're more compact than other 25lb plates). In fact, it became easier to rest the dumbbell on my quads and hoist into position during presses. It also provided me the capacity to increase dumbbell weight without having to buy obnoxiously expensive incremental dumbbell pairs. I don't lift to achieve pointless max weights or to emulate brain-dead sports figures and action heroes, so these weights are minuscule to many. But for modestly fit men, this system is very affordable, these plates costing a mere $8 each, shipped. Outstanding value. I have an amazingly complete home gym for sticking with Cap Barbell plates, Cap barbell rubber mats, and an assortment of standard grip bars and handles. I also have a Power Tech adjustable bench, lat and dip tower, hex bar, and a few other pieces. I do have Olympic plates and bars, but they're just too large to use quickly and safely in the small area I've reserved for my home gym. Lastly, accuracy is not dead on with these plates, so rotate between sets. In other words, don't be an anal-retentive whiner about disparities in total weight moved during a session and simply switch hands from one dumbbell to the next. Or pick up the bar with opposite hand placement between lifts. If you're some sort of strongman wannabe or just the typical prisspot male of today's culture - eye brows perfectly plucked and weights accurate to the micro-gram - go blow money on better scaled equipment, and blow your gym buddies, too. They'll appreciate the affirmation. Just kiddin'. ... show more

  • Great Value and Function for Price, some patience required.
Size: 25 Pound Color: Grey
25lb weights for $20 each is a great deal for weight plates (usually run at least $1 per pound) so I bought a pair. Pros: - Grip plates - holes are in perfect locations for many different exercises (one arm lifts, cross body lifts, overhead deltoid and tricep lifts, and core strengthening) - The coating is baked on, NOT PAINTED. Resistant to rust and chipping - Great size - the height of these plates and how high the barbell sits above the ground is perfect for deadlift starting position exercises. - Accurate weight - weighed both - both weighed in at 25lb +/- 0.2lb - Fits standard sized barbell/dumbbell with interior hole size of 1-1/8 in I only have one real con - the size of internal hole - this is where the patience comes in. I purchased 2 of these weight plates, but due to issues with quality control of the sizing/reaming (the holes were just millimeters too small), it took Amazon sending me 5 weight plates for me to receive 2 that properly fit my Onmie standard barbell/dumbbell set. That being said, Amazon fulfills this product so I just called amazon and everything was handled quickly and politely. So a con of quality control, but not of the actual product when manufacturered as intended. Overall, I would recommend this product. Easy to use grip locations and excellent size for use with a barbell. ... show more

  • Ok quality
Ok quality. Received this just in the Amazon bag but did not see any chips in the bag. This was made with holes and cracks in it. I could get scratches from. Not coated or sealed well. I had to return and get another.

  • Good Customer Service
Size: 10 Pound Color: Grey
Bought a couple plates during COVID, quality of plates did vary slightly (chips and scratches). Noticed there was a big chip off one plate with scratches. When I reached out for an exchange they let me keep it and sent me a new one. Great customer service. Quick to respond.

  • Good Plates for the Price though Some Blemishes
Size: 10 Pound Color: Grey
For the price these plates are fine. I especially like the open design and handholds for swapping plates. I was (and still am) satisfied with these, BUT did notice that I received the more roughly cast version compared to photos from other reviews (which might account for the recent price drop that finally prompted me to buy these). They still feel smooth to the touch and will not be rough on your hands, but there was a noticeable casting blemish on one of the two plates I purchased. It's really not enough to affect anything but is the main reason I dropped my score to four stars. However, I don't think you will find a better or even equal product at this price point, and if you actually notice any of these blemishes once you start your workout then it's probably not vigorous enough! These are a perfect match for the CAP Barbell CAP Barbell Threaded Standard Bar, 1-Inch, 250-Pound Capacity, 5-Feet . ... show more

  • Quality and Price
Size: 25 Pound Color: Grey
$50 for a cracked and not even aesthetically appealing plate. There are dried paint drops and both of the plates had a crack filled in... I found the same exact plate at Walmart for $22 and it had no crack, and looked better! Did you guys get all the rejected plates and sell them online for 2x the price? Other than that, they work as they are intended, but I don’t know how long they will last with a crack in them. ... show more

  • Grip Plates are the Best
Size: 10 lb Color: Black
The Cap Weight Plates are a great cost saving way to load up on your workout weights. The Grip Plates are much better than the standard Cap Plates in that the grip openings more easily allow you to move and transfer the plates without banging the around or catching your fingers. You especially notice it on the 25 lb. plates! In addition the Grip plates are more refined in their appearance and look way better compared to the standards. Occasionally you catch these as an "Add-On" item and the prices are incredible. The limit of 3 plates per weight is no big deal as I simply buy the other color version (black or silver) - sometimes just a slight bit more in cost. I wish they wouldn't put the bar code sticker and the state of CA warning on the plates - but no big deal. I've built up a nice set of (good looking) weights for a great price! ... show more
