    • Ughhh, bolts & nuts issue.....but solved!
They're packed nicely but delivery was delayed a bit. Initially, I thought I had the same bolts & nuts issues like another reviewer was asking in question lines. So I contacted CAP customer service about it. They actually responded quickly and told me that I just need a tool to hold one side and the bolt needs to pass that end of locknut. Well, thanks to my hubby who is quite handy and has lots of sorts tools. He used 17mm socket wrench and Voila, he assembled it so quickly and easily. He told me that I should’ve asked first instead of trying to do it all by myself :D Now I am a happy camper! The only negative thing I can say is that the rack had a big scratch and one part paints was already scratched off.I thought I purchased a new one....why? QA control issues? At this point, I can say that not that much a big deal though I prefer no scratch for a brand new items I ordered. So with all that said, I still think it’s a pretty good value product with that price. ... show more

    • MUST READ!!!!! 1OO% HONEST REVIEW...CAP 5-25LB DUMBBELL SET WITH HORIZONTAL RACK
I ordered on prime deal days and paid $135.00 approx after tax including 2 day delivery. The weights come in 3 seperate boxes at 50 lbs per box with the stand in another box on its own. I ordered the horizontal rack. Its easy to assemble. The rack that I got was definetly warped and bent. I found that after tightening everything very tight and as straight as possible the rack did not sit flush on the floor. But after putting the weights on it will sit flush. All the weights fit on my rack no problem. There is a rubber smell that is very strong. Smells like a tire shop. Just wash them with cleaner of some kind, i used lysol antibacterial wipes. Smell comes of easily. Just remember that your buying a cheap product so dont expect perfection. But for the price you cant go wrong and once you get it assembled and cleaned it looks great and sits flush to the floor. I just wish there was an option to get rid of the 5 lb weights and replace them with 30 lb weights. Weider has a set that is 10-30lb weights same rack style for $299.99 but im not paying another $165.00 for 30lb weights. CAP will work just fine!! OVERALL GREAT PURCHASE!!!! ... show more

Purchased for my 16 year old who started weightlifting and working out. Perfect starter at a reasonable price. Was a bit skeptical based on some of the reviews but I did not experience any problems and everything is holding up well…wish I had bought a larger set! This is a great set of barbells for the money!! They came in packaged very well in 4 separate boxes. The boxes with the weights were a thicker cardboard so everything came intact with no damage. The barbells did smell but were not greasy. I immediately washed them in soap and water which really didn't take the smell away that much but over 4 days time, the smell has subsided greatly with each passing day. The metal stand is very good quality and sturdy. Using the shipped hex wrench with an adjustable wrench (to clamp onto the nut) to get the nuts and bolts attached is the labor intensive part but really not bad. The nuts aren't supposed to screw on with your hands beyond a certain point. That's what the hex wrench combined with an adjustable wrench is for. Just takes a bit of time and muscle. Highly recommend this set! ... show more

I had this on my list for about a year. It’s great for keeping your weights/gym organized and it takes up little space. I can get through a workout much faster than when I was using Weider Weights which were better when I lived in a condo and had no gym space. I’m still putting together my gym area in the basement so I have a lot of random stuff cluttering the space but you get the idea. I had no issues with anything. The weights are great and well constructed. They are oily at first which preserves the rubber but I just wiped the handles to get most off and the other came off over time. I didn’t want the iron dumbbells because I didn’t want to worry about cracking a floor tile. Def a good buy if you are looking for a set. ... show more

I can't believe the complaints on smell. It's so easy. We had a small ice cream bucket of soapy water and a rag when we got these (based on feedback from reviewers). Yes you open the box and the rubber has a smell to it and it seems oily on most of them. But I also ordered 5 other sets of dumbbells and a big rack, to complete a whole set all the way to 60 lbs. Even another brand of dumbbells has the same odor and oil. You simply take 20 seconds to wipe the dumbbell off with the rag and then place on the rack which I had assembled prior to even opening the dumbbells. The rack has 10 screws or less, it took 10 minutes and the dumbbell cleaning took under 3 minutes for all of them. You spend the majority of your time opening the well packed boxes so the dumbbells don't tear through them due to their weight. All in all, it's a fantastic purchase. With the rack included, it's tough to beat. ... show more

Assembly is best done with two people and also have a socket wrench handy. Weights are great very easy to handle and also love the hex style which is great for doing things like plank rows. There is a rubber smell that is strong at first but dissipates. I have had them over a month now and there is still a smell but much less noticeable. Glad I bought this has made a world of difference in my workouts. I may need to buy additional weights (lbs) eventually but this is a great starter set for me. ... show more
