Recently ordered these hex dumbbells with the chrome handles, and they are an excellent bargain at this price range. Perfect weight training range for the needs of a 55-year-old guy who is just looking to stay healthy. They arrived in four very well fortified boxes - two 25lbs; two 20lbs with two 5lbs; two 15lbs with two 10lbs; and the rack. Yes, they had a light oil sheen and smell, but after washing them in the sink with Dawn, there's no smell, no sheen, and no residue. No burrs in the chrome, or peeling of the rubber coating at all. The rack holds them perfectly, has a small footprint, and takes about 15-20 minutes to put together. You'll need a traditional wrench to hold the nuts steady, as they only include an L-shape hex wrench to screw in the bolts. Great and organized set up! I had random mismatched weights hanging out in my living room and I wanted it to look neater and all match. The rack is sturdy and has a smaller footprint than some that I have seen. It was easy to put together. I like these with the rubber ends so they won’t scratch up my floors. Like other reviewers said, they had a slight odor so we just left them outside for a bit. It really wasn’t that bad. Then took them in and washed with dawn spray powerwash. A lot came off of them, but they are great now! Totally worth it for the price. I haven’t used them much yet, but they seem great! ... show more

I had metal weights originally that I let my bf use but I have a feeling that I’m never getting it back so i decided to order my own set and I’ve been eyeballing these weights forever!! So I finally ordered it and so glad that I did it’s exactly like the reviews and described even the smell! It is a very strong rubber like smell but just clean the weights and leave it outside to air out for like a week and it should be okay lol that’s what I did I use them everyday I keep it in my room in front of my mirrors! Best decision ever and now if I want to add up a weight from 5lbs I’ll go to 10 to 15 etc… definitely a good choice! And perfect for saving some space too barley takes us any room! ... show more

The weights are good quality. Yes; they smell terrible for at least a couple weeks. Two issues: there is very little space between each weight so when you put them away, you have to be very careful not to pinch your fingers. Also; I ordered black handles and all of them were black, except the 25 pound weights. Those were chrome. It took forever to contact the seller and at the end of the day they would not replace just the two that were wrong even though they came separate(Each set of weights came in a separate box, delivered separately) so Amazon offered to partially refund me to make up the difference. Bought this set for our home, mainly for my wife. It is a great addition to our minimal home gym. It is compact and saves us space. The dumbbells have a good grip to them and they are easy to grab and put away. Great set up.

The dumbbells remind me a lot of Rogue brand, very good quality. The rack was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. My ONLY complaint is it is very difficult to re-rack dumbbells holding by the handle without pinching your fingers. The slots that hold them are not wide enough for your hand to fit. Thankfully these are light enough to where you probably won’t hurt yourself. I’d still buy them again for the value ... show more
