My husband was so happy to receive this gift for his birthday! We live in a urban neighborhood and unfortunately not everyone pick-ups behind their pets, drawing a lot of flies. Every morning he likes to sit outside with his coffee, but the flies have been absurd. I thought it was pricey for a novelty gift/toy. However, it's made very well and has some weight to it too.     • Expensive toy, but totally worth it!
So it's obviously a fun toy to kill flies. I had the original little rifle, and that's exactly what that was. This is a HUGE upgrade. It's not a toy, and it's super powerful. It's not going to break a window or anything, but I would imagine it hurts if you suck at muzzle awareness. The original sometimes didn't kill the fly in one hit, but this one pins their carcass to a wall. One shot, one kill. I haven't tried to shoot anything bigger than a housefly yet, but I'd bet money it would easily take out a horse fly, or maybe even a wasp. I'm super impressed, it's SOO much fun, and totally worth the money. I really thought it was going to be a "buyer's remorse" situation, but, not only do I not regret it, but I get genuinely excited when I see a stupid, unsuspecting fly in my house.     • It's junk.
I have had my salt pistol a year or 2. Rarely used it... Went to load the 4th cartridge into it and it leaked all the Co² out of the chamber... tried again... same problem... upon closer inspection it blew a white rubber O ring into the spot the salt shoots put of... Tried to fix it... No luck... 125 dollar trash ornament.... I should have known... ... show more

    • My husband hasn't had this much fun in ages
Bought this as a Father's Day gift. We already have one of their other salt rifles, but I wanted something more powerful for my husband to "play" with. This thing will obliterate a fly if you shoot it within 3 feet. Having the CO2 cartridge really makes a difference, this thing packs a punch. Hubby is having too much fun hunting flies, has not tried it yet on wasps or other larger insects, but I seriously doubt it will have any problem handling those. Having said that, this is NOT a toy. We keep it out of the hands of young 'uns. They use our other salt rifle, which is just as fun, just takes a little longer to reload and has less power, but still effective. It can seem a bit pricey, but the kit comes with everything you need, and the unit is well made and sturdy, nothing flimsy about it. Flies and large bugs beware!! ... show more

    • Don't shoot inside
This thing is awesome, and addictive. I would not suggest shooting inside due to the blood splatter and destruction of any surface you hit. It is way more powerful than the pump bug-a-salt. It is also nicely made and weighs a little less than a Blackhawk 44Mag.

    • FUN FUN FUN!
It's a little pricey but you can't put a price on blasting flies and/or any other bugs sky high. It's alot of fun. I wish it came with extra seals but well worth it.

This thing is awesome kills any insects you decide to shoot. Be aware it’s very powerful and not a toy as I found out the hard way when a fly landed on bare foot Highly recommend and would buy again

    • Works well but stopped working after 2nd co2 cartidge
This product helped me get rid of wasps but stopped working. I reached out to customer servuce. Received a call and while the customer representative was on line, it started working again.
