Bought it over the recognized brand that was significantly more expensive. It works so well and really easy to use. My friends all love it and a few purchased it for their home. It's really fun to offer a smoked cocktail to guests. And the smoke flavor really gets into the drink. I thought about other options, but didn't really want to deal with having to keep a butane torch around. This has more parts to it, but much easier to use a lighter or a match. Definitely not difficult to use! And does give a great smoked flavor. My only complaint is the fact that it filled my kitchen with smoke, but maybe I did something wrong? I probably need to practice with it a bit more. Haven’t tried to take apart yet to clean the screen. Wish there were a good video to demonstrate exactly how to use and clean. ... show more

We love to entertain in our home, and I am always looking for a way to make the visit event filled and fun. I make specialty cocktails during our parties and the smoke bubble was a huge addition and a ton of fun. As you can see from the picture there is smoke inside the bubble. One you get the hang of it; anyone can create these bubbles as large or as small as you want. If you take a look at the pictures, I posted you can see the bubbles and how any home bartender can accomplish. The trick of it is to place the bubble forming out of your smoker on top of the cocktail class then let it expand till your desired effect. It is used to cover the span of the cocktail glass. I tried these bubbles on huge glasses and tiny ones, and it all worked. This is something an amateur can use as I don’t even drink, I just like to make new things, and this was a definite hit. It took me less than 10 minutes to figure out. I have also placed a link to the smoker I purchased to use with the bubble mix and last but not least you need to purchase the special attachment that allows you to fill the bubbles with smoke. UPDATE: I contacted the manufacture and they said they are sending me a replacement smoke gun. SMOKE GUN - This gun is made of all plastic, even the chamber were the wood sits that appears metal in the photo, so the cheap parts of this smoke gun just would not hold up!! I used this 3-4 times before it stopped working all together. It is completely dead! I tried changing the batteries and tested different batteries in case I got bad batteries, but NOPE. Doesn't even try to run!. It worked okay for the couple of times it did work. It smoked nice. It took about 30 seconds to fill the cocktails glass with smoke and did get plenty of smoke into the glass. SMOKE BOX - My husband tried it once and didn't want anything to do with it after that. It bellowed smoke out of the cracks too much where the lid closes. BUBBLE KIT - I tried to make bubbles that sit on top of martini glass so I could serve it that way. I followed the directions to a 'T' from the video, being careful not to let the bubble touch the edges of the glass before stopping the smoke process. I tried about ten bubbles in one sitting. It was a success on ONE bubble but it popped every other time before it could perch on the glass, thus making serving cocktails with a smoked bubble completely useless!! This may be an issue with the quality of the bubbles which was the Homia Bubbles. That's another story. Those showed up leaked completely out of the jar. The bubble liquid was spilled into the bottom of the bubble wrap envelope that they were packed in. I poured what was left of the liquid back into the jar. I was able to save about 1/4 of the liquid that way. Paid $20 for these bubbles, but couldn't be bothered getting a refund or replacement so I just used what was left. WOOD CHIPS - a bit chunky and hard to start. We had other chips that were shredded and thinner that worked better. The flavor of the wood is good though. SUMMARY - I paid $109 + dollars for this kit. I guess I can call this one a total loss! Sorry. One Star only. ... show more
