I think, according to instructions, that there is supposed to be a light on the lid that lights when filter needs changing. I didn’t get one of those. Pitcher is pretty heavy even without water. Hard to handle with arthritis. But overall, I like it because my cat gets better water now. No more bottled spring water or tap. ... show more

It says it's a 10 cup dispenser, but you have to fill the reservoir twice. It's also too tall to fit in my refrigerator, so I have to put the filtered water in another container. I would make a different choice next time.

I have had this pitcher for 2 years now, and I recently replaced it with a 27 cup dispenser. First, I do think the Brita Elite (Blue) filters are the best value on the market removing lead and some other chemicals. The Standard (White) filter is just a flavor filter and does not remove lead. The white filter also has shorter life. All of my negativity on this product has nothing to do with the filter, but instead the form-factor of the pitcher compared to the dispenser style products, which use the same filter. The pitcher is very bulky, with the handle. It is wider than the dispenser, taller, and seemingly takes up more space. It also is simply too small of a capacity to be useful. 10 cups is not a huge amount of water. If you have more than one person in the household, it will empty very quickly, necessitating frequent refills. One main reason I bought this was to have cold (refrigerator temp) water available, frequent refills prevent this... The pre-filter reservoir also takes up 1/3 of the volume, and you really cannot use the pitcher while the pre-filter reservoir is full or partially full, as unfiltered water will just pour over into your glass. The reservoir is not enough to refill the entire pitcher, you need to do 1-2 fills to completely fill, so you have to leave the pitcher and come back and add more water to have it full. My biggest complaint is that the pour spout is completely uncovered, a big design flaw. The dispenser-style is a much better option than the pitcher, and is not that different in price... While they do take up more space, the use of the space is far more efficient. The 27-cup dispenser is narrower and shorter than this 10-cup pitcher. The dispenser is deeper, but since it stays in place, it is much easier to utilize the space around it more efficiently, than something you have to remove to use. You also can refill the dispenser in place if you use a measuring cup or a pitcher. The dispensers also have enough water that you are only need to refill it once a day, or at least more infrequently than this pitcher. Unlike the pitcher, you can leave water in the prefilter reservoir and still use the dispenser, which greatly increases the functional capacity... All in all, I recommend avoiding the pitcher, and going with a dispenser style. ... show more

This Brita pitcher is a nice size. I’m not a fan of the lid (it wasn’t what was pictured). There’s no cover/flap at the spout, which is odd, but what’s worse is how the cover comes off for refilling. The entire top cover comes off, but there’s no edge or place to grip it when removing. It’s not super functional. ... show more

This Brita 10C pitcher has large spout and water runs through it's 6 Month cartridge rather quickly. Had competitor's version (gifted) for 3 years and tired of WAITING for water to drip thru, plus it had small spout. There's a strong Chlorine smell when first running kitchen tap first thing in the morning, especially noticable during Covid. 1000% improvement with this Brita pitcher. Always keep it filled--use it for filling electric tea kettle, coffee maker, soda stream. Love it. Bought extras for customers with water issues. I don't like bottled water, so this is wonderful! It'd be nice if the plastic was more rugged, but it's serviceable. Purchasing it through Amazon Warehouse made it a much better deal. ... show more
