Features

  • Front-Mounting Design: Mounting in front of the mower allows the extracted thatch to be mulched by the mower blades, for faster decomposition, or collected using a sweeper.
  • Triple-Coil Strength: The (24) 3/16 diameter triple coil strength spring steel tines guarantee maximum efficiency, durability and thatch removal.
  • One-Bolt Clamping: This patented design allows for quick attachment to the mower without any modification whatsoever.
  • Dual-Rotating Wheels: Two swiveling caster wheels ensure that the tines follow the contours of the lawn to prevent damage and maximize thatch pickup
  • Heavy-Duty Steel: Thick steel plating and square tubing is treated with a tough powder-coat finish to prevent rust and ensure long-lasting durability.
  • Two Rows of Tines: The two rows of independently flexing tines remove dead grass and roots (thatch), allowing your lawns root system access to water and nutrients.

  • Improvise to fit my zero turn Ferris.
Color: Matte Black
No dislikes. I had to improvise in effort to mount this unit onto my Ferris zero turn. Lowered the tooth table 2in. Works great

Color: Matte Black
It looks more heavy duty then it looks on line. Should last years Box was damaged in shipping all parts were fine and included but the bags holing hardware had holes in them and missing a few items. Had to go to Lowe's and get a few things. Haven't put on my 2024 bad boy magnum yet so not Shure how good a job it will do. ... show more

  • Works will but had to make modifications
Color: Matte Black
This dethatcher works well when securely attached to the mower. My John Deere had short front mounts so I had to add extenders to make it work. When securely attached it works fine

  • 2023 ALTERATIONS AND OPERATIONAL REVIEW - It may help you in considering this purchase.
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. VIDEO AND PICS ATTACHED: My Zero Turn Mower is a Kubota Z400 series with a 60-inch deck. The dethatcher came as described and instructions were sufficient for installation. You will want to remember to allow clearance for your front wheels to clear the dethatcher when turning or backing up as you will note in my photos. For my particular mower, I also had to add a decking board to lower the dethatcher so the tines were only a 1/8-1/4 inch from the floor. Because of this, I had to install longer bolts where necessary. Due to some other reviews I read, I added an additional support bar using 1-inch aluminum round stock and drilled and tapped it for 3/8" x 16 bolts at each end on center. I then drilled through holes on each wheel support bar just inside their mounting plates as you will see in the photos. I installed the bar using additional bolts I had with lock washers to secure it. This did improve the overall design and I do not have to be concerned with the bending of the front wheel bars as some previously described in their reviews. After some use and observation, I am pleased with the result and have had no issues with the dethatcher. To clarify my use, I only dethatch a few times per season. I use a rear lawn vacuum several times in the early spring season to catch my grass clippings so thatch doesn't build up when the grass is actively growing the thickest. Most of the season I do not use my rear lawn vacuum and discharge the grass clippings normally which gradually builds up thatch in the lawn. In the fall I use the front-mounted dethatcher and my rear lawn vacuum at the same time to suck up the displaced thatch and the newly cut lawn clippings. This has proved to be a huge time saver and I am pleased with the overall result. The video was taken at the very beginning of the season in the early spring before the grass was actively growing. Afterward, I overseeded as I am attempting to establish a new lawn. If installing the dethatcher as purchased I am not certain it would give years of trouble-free service. Therefore, I am graciously reviewing it as 4 stars. ... show more

  • Poorly designed and dangerous. Can seriously dig into the ground and try to fold under the mower.
Color: Black
Poorly designed and in my opinion it is dangerous. I have been using mowers and every type of attachment for a very long time. I normally dethatch with a tow behind dethatcher. I had heard a lot of negatives about front mount dethatchers but thought I would find out for myself. I did and it was not good. I had carefully adjusted the dethatcher so that the tines were just touching the ground and the dethatcher was level with the wheels also correctly adjusted. I also had double checked all the hardware to make certain they were all tight. I had been using the dethatcher for about a half hour and results were good except for a couple of times when the dethatcher dug into the ground and dragged. I repeatedly slowed down my mowing speed and an even worse digging in still happened anyway and on level ground, the detatcher dug into the ground so hard that it lifted the front of my mower completely off the ground by at least 6-8 inches. It must have hit a slight berm (if it was a berm, it was not even noticeable). I was really surprised that the wheels did not keep that from happening (the height was locked). That was it though, I was done using this Dethatcher. I removed it from my mower and am returning it to Amazon. I'm not going to take a chance with wrecking my mower and will go back to using a tow-behind dethatcher. ... show more

  • I like it
Color: Black
I bought this with a good background on how it should be used and this unit does what it is designed to do. I have installed it on a 52" Toro Grandstand and it fit just fine. Make sure you set the wheel height so the tines are just barely touching the grass. I would also suggest going in straight lines and at the end of each line, back up to turn around, when you back up, it clean the tines and doesn't dig up the grass. ... show more
