I love this brace. After buying two other braces supposedly for larger legs (that cut into my leg and/or had straps rubbing and chafing on the back side of my knee), I ordered this one to try. I love it. It takes a bit of a tug to get it in place, so if you have weak hands or arms it might not be for you. But if grip isn't an issue, this is amazing. My knee feels supported and stabilized. It's comfortable to extend my leg, bend my leg, walk, do stairs, etc. My thighs are pretty squishy, so I have a very slight muffin top, so to speak, when I walk. But, that's honestly to be expected based on my body type. I'm 5'10" and wear a size 22 typically in jeans, and the 3x fits just right. Based on the measurements I took, though, I'd say add an extra inch to your measurements to be on the safe side, because I was in the middle of the range and I'm not sure it would be as comfortable if I had another inch to work around.     • Thigh strap too short

I've purchased two of these braces, one at a time. I have a similar type (neoprene sleeve, velcro straps, padded knee hole) that was fantastic but just too constricting and painful to use. It took me a very long time to find this brace, in my size, and I crossed my fingers with the initial order. It filled all my expectations but one. The velcro straps, especially the one above the knee (over the lower thigh) is way too short. Granted, my thighs are considerably larger than my lower leg, but still - the end of the strap barely reached the foldover slot, and I had just about 1/2"-3/4" of length (after pulling tight) to hook the end of the strap to the soft portion of the velcro. The second brace has the same problem - except the strap is even shorter. That said - this brace is incredibly easy to put on and take off without a WWE style wrestling match. It supports the whole knee joint - above, below, each side, and from behind (bracing the cruciate ligaments), as well a padded 'donut' for addition bracing of the patella itself. I am able to walk with more stability and endurance using this brace, so much so that I sometimes forget my limitations and overdo it - causing more pain after I take the brace off. Maybe that's just an acclimation thing; I don't wear the brace often enough to know for sure. I show dogs, and would not be able to make it around the ring without injury without these braces. Ha ... it was trying to do exactly that which aggravated previous knee injuries and caused the need for bilateral braces in the first place. :D Fix the thigh strap and this brace will be perfect. ... show more

    • Outstanding product, really works, does NOT roll down, not even when crawling around rubble piles!!

I read the reviews and I took a chance on getting this (3xl) after my orthopedic surgeon said that amazon had a wider size range with more options than the medical supply stores around. Normal XLs don't fit me well and always roll down. I had a torn meniscus several years ago and had surgery to repair it and now I get euflexxa shots but this last time it was not as effective as in the past and my knee has been bothering me more than usual especially with any type of twisting lateral movement. I am very pleased that I found this and now use this when I am training K9s and particularly when I am on the rubble pile (USAR K9 handler) and this WORKS VERY WELL! Seriously, I am quite impressed! It does NOT roll down at all not even with crawling inside small holes in the rubble to hide for the K9s; it stays PUT! The velcro does not move either. I can have it on for 8 hours on the rubble in high temps and I forget it's on once we start working; it really helps support my knee and doesn't slip around even when sweating. It will of course get warm on 90F plus days but I honestly don't notice it until we stop training and I am taking off my PPE. I have 4 other knee support braces, even one from the orthopedic surgeon when I had my surgery, and none of them come even close to how well this works. I've been using this one regularly for a month and I plan to get a few more as eventually I imagine it will start to break down at some point with regular use. ... show more

It DOES help a little (I think). I compresses my knee and makes it feel a bit more secure. But, it will not stay in place well, it keeps sliding down all the time. I think maybe if I had sized up it would be better.

I purchased this knee brace for my younger sister who has been having problems with her knee for several years. Now that she started working job that required her to be on her feet for hours during her shift, she was desperate for knee support. I did some research and found this knee came up on several sites. I had her to take her measurements and Perfection!! She said the measurements were spot on and the brace fits and feels great! Got this after a patella dislocation. I’ve got some huge legs! Much too big for the routine store bought ones. I measured at 27” at thigh and 19” at the calf. It fits perfectly. It’s a little loose at the top but the strap tightens it just enough. Doesn’t dig in at all. Very comfortable for all day wear. I will be able to wear it until it’s completely healed. Was looking for something with a little more metal on the sides for more Stability but this works well. I tried other brands with more stable sides but they just don’t fit my strange dimensions. I have big thighs, small knees, and big calves! This also provides compression which makes me feel very secure in this brace. Helped with the swelling. ... show more
