I had a Jones fracture, a typically slow healing break of my 5th metatarsal bone. I was non weight bearing (wheel chair) for 2.5 months and then partial weight bearing. I wore a cam boot in the day and I used this at night. It really protected my foot in bed. It kept me from moving my ankle in such a way as to hurt and kept the sheets from bending my foot in a way that hurt. The velcro eventually was getting tired and so I used an additional velcro strap around the foot area closure and that kept it secure. This brace is comfortable and well cushioned. Strong Velcro to hold it in place. I bought it to wear to sleep after my foot surgery but for my purposes the 90degree angle was not comfortable. But that is not really what it is intended for. So although it did not work for me, that is no reflection on the item itself ... show more

Ordered one size up based on a review and didn't need to do that. The sizing appears to be accurate, so I will need to exchange I am 100% satisfied with the brace. However, the included toe riser is hard material and feels very uncomfortable beneath the toes. I guess I can cover it if needed.

I've tried 4 different styles of these--two prescription and two from Amazon. This one is hands down the best one. It's way more comfortable than the one with hard plastic on the back, and unlike that one, my heel actually stays down. I bought another one for my other foot. **update** after a couple weeks, it's just as comfortable, BUT the velcro is absolutely horrible. I have to redo the straps a few times during the night because they keep coming all done. This is for both, so I doubt it's some fluke thing. ... show more

I broke both sides of my ankle and ruptured both tendons. It’s excruciating. After a few weeks in a cast I was placed in a walking boot (trying to avoid surgery) the walking boot can’t be slept it, it’s too much. So I was left to figure something out and I saw this. Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes. My boot presses on my ankle and it hurts so bad, I figured this would probably do the same but I tried it anyway. It is a game changer!!! It’s secure, easy to put on, holds your foot/ankle still, even has a toe block to assure you have 90* as prescribed. It is so much more com than the boot and while I wouldn’t wish this injury on anyone, if you are unlucky enough to need this TRY IT! You might actually get some sleep. ... show more

    • Too boxy for a comfortable fit

I was really hopeful that this would be a good alternative for me as a sleeping boot, in lieu of the heavy, bulky, walking boot. Unfortunately, I found that the straps of the boot are square in fit, and are not in any way designed to curve around the area between the ankle and the top of the foot, to allow a proper, comfortable fit. I could get them to wrap around and securely attach to the Velcro on the other side because the straps would overlap each other. It just seems like a very lazy design, with no consideration of how the human body is put together. The bottom of the boot is wide and flat, with much more surface area than I needed for my foot, but I do understand that they need some flexibility there for different foot widths and sizes. The boot is lighter weight than a standard walking boot and does have a bit more breathability, but I just could not get it to fit comfortably enough and still feel it would securely protect my foot while sleeping with the poorly designed straps. For context, I’m 5’5 and 175 lbs. but my ankles are not heavy or thick. Maybe someone who has heavier or thicker ankles/feet would find the square straps more comfortable. ... show more

This is a nice night splint. I first ordered the small as it indicated in the description that it would fit up to a ladies size 8.5. (I wear a 7-7.5 shoe). My toes hung over about 1/2 inch. (I honestly think it would fit only up to a 6.5 ladies foot even though the sizing slip that comes with the item says it fits a 7). I then ordered a size medium. That was a much better fit albeit a bit long. The small has a shorter calf piece as well as the shorter foot bed and the medium is longer/bigger in those same areas. I kept the medium and I like it. I’ve used it several nights now after receiving approval from my physician after leg, ankle and foot surgery. I’ve used the wedge that is included because it helps to keep my ankle at the optimum 90° angle. The splint overall does a good job holding my foot secure so it doesn’t move around at all while I sleep. If you are considering this item, please realize that if your foot is near the end range of measurements, order a size up. I’ve included the measurements that are sent with the item and those are far more accurate as a reference. I’ve also included pictures to help give a potential consumer a visual of the way it fits relative to a small and medium. ... show more
