I am not one who normally concerns myself with pillow quality, and unfortunately I have paid a lot for some big name pillows in my history. I am a back sleeper, and tend to wake up with stiffness in my neck. I figured I was just getting old and wasn't too concerned with it, and would use whatever pillow I could find. Then one night, a few nights ago, these pillows were introduced into my night time routine, and my life is changed for the better. The pillows come shipped in a vacuum sealed plastic bag, and I freed them from their bags and let them air out on the guest bed for about 3 days before I remember I had them. When I was making the bed, I put these in the pillow cases, and fluffed them up several times to try to distribute the contents. As I was fluffing the pillows, I noticed that the exterior case is a fabric, but there seems to be a plastic like internal case. You could hear it when I was fluffing the pillow and I figured it would bother me throughout the night. I was immediately skeptical. First night sleep, I was not awaken by any shuffling noise, and don't even recall hearing it when my head hit the pillow. My wife is a light sleeper and she didn't hear it throughout the night either. What I did discover when I woke up was that my neck wasn't stiff anymore. My shoulders even felt more mobile. I figured It was just me over thinking my ailments and one night doesn't mean a lot. Since then, my neck pain and shoulder tightness has not returned, and I am sleeping soundly through the night. I have given the kids my memory foam type of pillows and we are keeping these as our primary sleepers. Sweet dreams! ... show more

I love down pillows, but they can get quite expensive and you never know what kind of quality or firmness you will get. I have an old set of 'down around' pillows from a major brand that I loved (and still use as sham fillers) but have lately been using full synthetic filled pillows which don't hold up well at all, resulting in me replacing them all too frequently. These pillows are something else though. They arrive vacuum packed and individually tightly rolled and I had to be careful cutting the plastic wrapping off (didn't seem to be a better way to get them open). They immediately unroll themselves and begin to fluff up. A good shake gets them about 80% fluffed, and you can continue with that to get them to full loft or toss them in the dryer for up to 20 minutes. I tossed them in one at a time, with 4 wool dryer balls, for just 5 minutes each on the lowest setting and that was enough to get them into shape. These are a bit weighty, which I wondered about but have now realized that they are not 100% goose down and are in fact a blend of goose down and polyester. I ordered the Queen size for a King size bed, only later realizing I'd need to order new pillow protectors because mine are either King or Standard. Ooops. Other than that these actually fill a King pillowcase remarkably well - my cheap king-sized pillows were constantly sliding out of the cases and these sit far enough in, and are so lofty, that there's little chance of any slipping with these. As for sleep, I'd call this a medium/medium firm pillow. Your head will sink into it, but it still provides support. I slept extremely well, barely moving the one time I briefly woke in the night - normally I end up flipping my pillow, re-fluffing it, even folding it a bit to get a comfortable position, but not with this. So far I'm quite impressed. I am interested in how these hold up longer term, hopefully I remember to come back with an update in a few months. ... show more

    • Just Like Hotel Pillows (in a good way)

These are nice, big, fluffy pillows. They remind me of the pillows that tend to be used at nice hotels. They are big and feel luxurious, but can be squished around to suit the preference of the user. I don't believe that these pillows contain internal baffling that holds the down in place, which is a pro if you - like hotels - are looking for a "one pillow fits all" sort of pillow. It is a con if you want a giant super fluffy pillow that will remain that way for decades; if you are looking for an enduringly fluffy pillow, you will likely need to pay much, much more to get a pillow with a good internal baffling structure. But, if you just want some pillows to use for a few years or to add to your pillow pile for reading time at night, these pillows are great. I particularly recommend these pillows for a guest room because everyone will more or less like these pillows, regardless of whether they are stomach, side, or back sleepers or hooked on a particular type of pillow. These are absolutely the perfect pillows for a guest room, which is why pillows like these are favored by hotels. ... show more

Oh my goodness. I've had neck and shoulder issues for many years, and I've been using goose down pillows, which have worked the best for me. My neck needs good support, but because I'm small, memory foam or regular polyester fill pillows are too lofty and hurt my neck. The second I laid my head on one of these pillows, my entire body relaxed and completely melted into it. I cannot believe how wonderful it feels! It's soft and my head sinks into it, but it doesn't go flat and need fluffed in the middle of the night! It still retains good support for my neck! It's truly amazing!! I wake with NO neck pain, which I haven't experienced for years! I can hardly believe this truly, and hope these pillows keep their wonderful properties for years and years! As a bonus, I love their size! Most of the pillow cases I have are the envelope style and are queen sized, and my old pillows are smaller, apparently made before they came out with the bigger size. These fit perfectly. I just could not be happier. These seem to be made in heaven. I'm completely satisfied, thank you for making them!! ... show more
