  • Good Value, noisy compressor
Size: 23 Quart Cover
I received the fridge and followed the manual's suggestion to let it sit upright for 24 hours. I placed 12 canned drinks, in two 6-packs, along with a wireless thermometer to monitor the temperature. The drinks were at room temperature, and I set the fridge temperature to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. It took about 24 hours to cool everything to the 35-degree mark, with the compressor turning on and off about 5-6 times per hour. Once it reached 35 degrees, it was able to maintain that temperature by turning on the compressor only about 3-4 times per hour. This was indoors at a room temperature of about 69 degrees, and I had the case/cover on the fridge. It ran fine for 12 hours before suddenly turning off overnight (as seen in the picture, the temperature spiked when it shut off). After plugging it back in, I let it run for the rest of the week, and it continued to maintain a good temperature range based on the 35-degree setting. However, after about 2 days, the compressor started making a knocking sound when it turned on. It would knock for about 60-90 seconds before getting quieter. I sent a message to customer service, and they said it was normal, but I'm not sure I agree. While it's not a big deal when using it indoors, if I had it in a small camper or vehicle while trying to sleep, it would definitely be distracting every time it turned on. Overall, I think it's a fair value assuming it holds up. There is a 2-year warranty, and they offer an additional year if you register on their website. I was torn between this model and the Iceco 20qt model, but this one has a slightly larger internal volume, allowing you to stack 2 12oz cans vertically, which the Iceco does not. Overall, I think this fridge will meet my needs, and while I can't speak to its reliability after only having it for 2 weeks, the loud compressor knocking would have me considering an Iceco or a different brand with a higher-end compressor. ... show more

  • Great for travel
Size: 30 Quart Cover
My husband and I are OTR truckers. This cooler is great! It took a little tweaking with the temperature to get it right. The first time we froze all our food. Luckily most of it was microwaveable so not to much trouble. 2nd time slightly frozen water and drinks and yogurt. 3rd times a charm everything was perfect! We keep it at 48 that seems to be best for everything. Love it now. ... show more

  • Well Made Case
Size: 30 Quart Cover
I purchased this case to go with the purchase of the Bouge portable fridge. This case is well made and provides a place to store the power cords and instruction booklet. My only beef with this case is that the hole where the cord attaches to the unit is not placed well. When you place the plug into the chest you have to feed the cord in a big loop inside the case between the unit and the case to be able to get the plug into the unit. This is kind of hard to describe. However, I am glad that I purchased the case and would do so again. ... show more

  • Invaluable for keeping food cold on the road
Size: 30 Quart Cover
I have used this portable 12v refrigerator/freezer to keep food frozen or cold in the back of my van on two 3-day each way cross-country round trips since fall 2021. It did the job every time. While on the road during the day the unit was powered either by the car battery or by a solar panel mounted on the roof of the van (right photo) via a portable solar generator with 12v output (center photo). When running on the car battery, the ECO mode was set to protect against draining the battery. At night in motels the unit was powered off an AC outlet using the included AC/DC converter. During the last trip an apparent power surge while plugging in the converter caused the display to go blank. The converter still ran and kept the food frozen, but the settings could not be adjusted. When I contacted BougeRV they responded promptly and volunteered to send me a replacement control panel - the 2-year warranty still being in effect. I received the replacement control panel after returning home and easily installed it, just flipping it around to accommodate the modified cable connector configuration. (picture at left). I strongly recommend this portable refrigerator/freezer for use on the road. ... show more

  • Good cover & insulation!
Size: 23 Quart Cover
This fits the BougueRV fridge perfectly, protects it and provides another option for carrying the fridge around. I love the pockets on it. I have the cords in one set and use the others for napkins or other handy items when traveling with the fridge. The insulation factor isn't huge but it really does help keep the fridge from having to run as frequently. The vents are open and once you put this on you don't have to remove it for use in the house or vehicle because the power connection is also available while the cover is on. The material is really nice and strong. I carried the full fridge with the straps multiple times over a 4 day weekend (in and out of the vehicle etc) and never felt like it was unsafe or flimsy. It just works well and I am sure it will protect the fridge on my offroad Jeep runs as well as on road trips around the country. Honestly I was hesitant with the cost, but am glad I spent the money on this cover. I recommend it to anyone with one of these fridges, especially if you are in a warm climate like me! ... show more

  • Good product
Size: 30 Quart Cover
This product is very well made. I am very happy that I have it on my cooler

  • It definitely helps.
Size: 23 Quart Cover
This seems to be a very nice addition to my refrigerator. I believe it helps keep things cooler longer when the truck isn't running. The only thing I wish was different is the black color. A lighter shade, or a silver exterior wouldn't soak up heat as much!
