Description

Bosch CM10GD 10 In. Dual-Bevel Glide miter saw delivers accuracy and cutting control at all angles, as well as durable precision throughout the life of the tool. The innovative Axial-Glide System provides wider cross-cuts, enhanced alignment and smoother glide, and the compact design takes up to 10 In. less front-to-back workspace than a slide miter saw. With a 15 Amp motor providing 4,800 no-load RPM, there is plenty of power. Adjustable miter and bevel detents enable users to make precise common miter and bevel cuts, and the override allows for easy angle adjustment. The bevel lock lever and range selector are located safely upfront so users don't have to reach around behind the saw to make a bevel adjustment.

  • Great saw, with few caveats
Style: Miter Saw
Love this machine. After years of dreaming of it after Tom Silva’s piece adding it to a lady’s garage setup on Ask This Old House, the price was finally right. Careful measurements and asked questions here helped my decision. It just fits the only possible workbench spot I had left. It’s arm swings in and out of the way while stored, yet when operational the back just clears the parts rack between it and the wall. A simple single bolt in one corner makes it hard to steal from an open garage, yet allows the base to swing out enough so longer pieces clear the bench vise nearby (which can also swing in). Not everything I dream up goes as imagined, but amazingly this did, due in no small part to the saw’s compactness. The saw performance so far is phenomenal. I’ll probably never use the bevel feature since I’ll likely never do molding, but it’s there if I ever do and it bevels both directions. It certainly is handier than digging out my Skilsaw and prepping boards with sawhorses, squares, and guides! Just hook the whole house Vacuflo garage hose to the dust chute, swing the arm out and set, and cut and done… it’s so much better than the Skilsaw route, and projects previously put off now get done right away. I added an Oshlun laser guide to the blade because I’m used to lasers on the Skilsaw and drill press. It may be overkill as the saw is pretty easy to use accurately on its own, but I wasn’t certain of that when ordering the saw. It is helpful lining cuts up initially, but not everyone needs a laser and it’s not that necessary if money is an issue. The included dust collector nozzle is the only really weak area. I tossed it and made my own deeper one after watching YouTube ideas. Mine barely skims the table and is wider and larger overall. It could use a little refinement to seal some gaps, but still does a wonderful job with our whole house vacuum hooked up via an adapter. Very little bench cleanup is needed compared to the first time I tried the saw with the included dust setup. Inexpensive small rubber mat supplied the rubber, and Gorilla Tape pretty much holds it together. ... show more

  • As a professional;
Style: Miter Saw
As a professional, I love this saw! It is extremely precise and versatile in the kinds of cuts it can make. I particularly enjoy the arms vs standard rods, it gives a very smooth “ride” so to speak and takes up a little less space. All the adjustments are up front which is extremely helpful. All in all; a wonderful saw. It will last a practiced user a life time with care. Would recommend ... show more

  • Excellent saw cut and quality, very pricey
Style: Miter Saw
This is a great saw and functions extremely well right out of the box. I set it on my bench after making some modifications for table height and width. Cut quality is excellent and it's a space saver because it can go flat against the wall. I made a zero clearance insert for it, very easy, lots of how to videos online. Great working saw, I am a hobbyist woodworker and have a small shop. It is installed permanently on my bench so weight isn't an issue. It is very pricey, but I spoiled myself. I justified it because it does save space, i can set it back against the wall. also hooked up dust collection but I plan on improving that also (again, a how to video online). If you have the cash, this is an excellent quality saw that makes accurate cuts out of the box. ... show more

  • Durable, compact, accurate
Style: Miter Saw
I liked that it was easy to use, and cuts very accurately. All parts and features worked as it should and was durable. I like that it’s compact and can be pushed all the way to the wall, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

  • Surprising cut through a 4"x4"!
Style: Miter Saw
I looked at another Makita (which this Bosch replaced), and also a DeWalt. I decided on this Bosch after reading reviews on them. Reviews on a Makita I considered were inconsistent. I have a friend who recently bought a 12" DeWalt but wasn't able to calibrate one of the adjustments so he returned and exchanged it for another one. This Bosch surprised me in several areas; #1: it was quieter than my 12 amp Makita it replaced. #2: it didn't kick back on start up as much my old Makita. #3: It cut through a 4"x4" on one pass, which my 10" Makita compound sliding miter could not do. I don't have a dust collection system and found that the "boot" does a poor job collecting dust. I will order an aftermarket fixture to help with that. I also don't care for the hold down clamp design, very inefficient the time it takes to screw down the clamp. Surprised they didn't use a quick release clamp. The saw is solid, which also means it's heavy, over 60# so if you plan to take it to/from your jog site this might be a consideration. On the other hand if you buy this for use in your shop you can put it up against the back wall because of the articulating arms, which are very smooth. In fact they were a little too smooth but the adjustment bolt to adjust and increase the resistance is easy to get to. If you find the need to make adjustment to the bevel or miter angles, follow the instructions in the owner's manual in the listed order. After I calibrated everything it cut square. My bevel lock was way too tight and needed to be adjusted. When I first tried to unlock it I had to use a lot of downward force. I have a friend who owns an earlier model Bosch sliding miter and his bevel lock was also very hard to release. Engineers put the adjustment bolts in the back where the onboard tools can be used and the instructions how to loosen it are in the owner's manual. I chose to use a socket and ratchet instead though. If I had to do it over again I would still buy this over the Makita or DeWalt. ... show more
