The shredder does a good job. It is quiet and it accepts multiple sheets of paper as advertised and doesn’t go off on high heat at the speed I use it. One thing that I don’t like is that sometimes the shredded paper collects in the cutting blades and falls into the base when the container is removed. Sometimes enough falls that the bin will not go back in place. It doesn’t take long to clean out the bottom of the unit but is a little hard to get to. There is one thing that I consider a weak point, I.e., the clasps that hold the bucket or paper bin in place are made from plastic and I fear they may be the first thing to break. I have no way of knowing what type of plastic so I may be wrong. But, I try to push the bucket back in place easily. It activates the on/off switch so it would keep the shredder from working if they were to break. It looks like they can be easily replaced but it would have been good if they had included an extra pair. So far I am very satisfied with the product. ... show more

FIRST, THIS IS NOT SPONSORED OR COMMISSIONED - Just writing the kind of review I like to read if I were still searching for a shredder :) Stop looking & buy this :) - I did all that so you don't have to! (imho). Have owned other shredders for sensitive documents etc & wanted a top of the line. THIS SHREDDER: MICRO-CUT = The better cut, it's like tiny confetti, not strips that could be glued back together. TINY-SIZED MICRO-CUT "CONFETTI" = This one micro cuts to a tiny size; better since the whole purpose is to shred for security reasons QUIET = 60 db (imho) Not loud. I sat right in front of it & could've talked on my phone at the same time. So, you could also use this is one room & it wouldn't hinder anyone else sleeping or watching TV etc in another area. GOOD SIZE = 5.3 gallon means you could shred 480pages before you need to empty it. Big enough to shred & hold a bunch, but not so big that you can't make is discreet in a room or home office EASY SETUP = Super easy right out of the box. I don't want to deal with complicated or time consuming setups. With this, you won't have to either. WHEELS W/ LOCKABLE CASTERS = 4 wheels - 2 have locking "flap" USE = 60 minutes of run time until it stops to cool itself down (seems more than enough time even if papers pile up) SAFETY = Auto stop if you open bin while shredding (I tested this!) SUMMARY: Right kind of shredding cut (tiny micro confetti) Quiet Low Noise Easy to use Easy to open to empty or to look in there Can insert multiple pages to shred at one time - bye junk mail! It a very quiet machine compared to our previous one. It does however make quite a mess in bin area when you pull out bin. Also to note it doesn't shred the items into as small of pieces as our last one either.

Killed my old (very old) shredder while attacking a huge pile of documents I've been hoarding for way too long. Ordered a new shredder, and returned it after one day's worth of use. It became obvious immediately that it was underpowered and finicky. The BONSEN became its replacement. Considerably more expensive, but well worth it. The machine's air cooled motor (with built in vent) is well designed, and the shredder's feature of running the cutters in reverse immediately after feeding pauses does a very good job of clearing out the cutters automatically. The other thing I like is the large capacity bin that pulls out from the front of the machine for quick, neat emptying. This one is a keeper, and well worth the extra cost. ... show more

Is not overly loud, holds a lot of shredded paper. Works fast, has not jammed up at all. It does exactly 💯% as advertised. To me it is well worth every cent. Pale is easy to remove and replace and seems very durable.

When I received the shredder for my church, I was so excited and started shredding old envelopes from 2 years ago. It was awesome! Then I started shredding financial reports from 5 years ago and that's when I saw an issue. When I would stop shredding, the shredder would continue to run forward and then it stopped and started running in reverse. The problem with that is, all the paper that had not dropped would come back up to the top of shredder and created a jam. I had to clear it out in order to shred more paper. So, I started lightly pressing the lever after a few shreds to make it think I was shredding and it would clear any paper that had not dropped. That is time consuming and I was disappointed with that. I wish there was a way to turn the auto reverse off. ... show more
