In November 2022, I made the unfortunate decision of purchasing a Bonsaii 240 Minutes 18 Sheet Paper 3S30 Shredder, hoping for a reliable and durable product. At first, it seemed like a great investment, but after just four months of use, the shredder completely stopped working. What a disappointment! Naturally, I reached out to the warranty department, expecting a prompt and efficient resolution to the issue. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a frustrating and seemingly endless ordeal. On March 29, 2023, I initiated contact with the warranty department, clearly explaining the problem with the shredder. I emphasized that it had abruptly stopped working while I was in the middle of shredding a file. No lights, no sounds—it was completely lifeless. Hoping for a quick solution, I followed their instructions diligently. I sent them a video demonstrating my attempts to revive the shredder, including plugging it into the wall, turning on the power switch, and pressing the start button. Additionally, I provided all the requested information, such as serial numbers, manufacture dates, proof of purchase, and a shipping address for the replacement shredder. However, despite my efforts, it is now June 14, 2023, and I am still without a functioning shredder. Throughout the past few months, I have repeatedly reached out to the warranty department, only to be met with constant requests to troubleshoot the shredder. The infuriating part is that the shredder has absolutely no power—it will not turn on, no matter what I try. This entire experience has been an exercise in frustration, with the warranty department failing to deliver on their promises. It is deeply disheartening to see a company that initially appeared reputable and dependable turn out to be so unhelpful and unresponsive. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a Bonsaii product to think twice. If this is the level of customer service and quality they provide, it is not worth the risk. I sincerely regret my decision to buy the Bonsaii 240 Minutes 18 Sheet Paper Shredder, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others. Save yourself the trouble and look for a more reliable brand that stands behind their products and offers satisfactory customer support. UPDATE - 07-13-2023 Today I received a replacement shredder. I honestly had given up on getting a replacement. It is the exact model and is shredding away. I have adjusted my review to four stars. The shredder worked great when it worked. This shredder is perfect for household needs - even extensive ones. It is light, maneuverable (it has wheels), fast, efficient, versatile (yes, it shreds credit cards, no more cuts and other hand injuries when destroying the expired ones). And it is pretty too.

We have had several shredders over the years, and they usually are not designed to handle more than three or four sheets of paper at a time. However, this one handles about 10 or 12 sheets at a time, and does not seem to bog down at all. And the great thing about this is that it cuts the paper up into little confetti pieces, making it harder for someone to put any kind of information together from the hundreds of pieces of small paper. It works well, and I used it to shred a lot of old paperwork all at once with no issues. I think I spent about one solid hour shredding at a time, and it did not overheat for me, which was an issue for previous shredders I have owned. I did stop after about an hour, and give it a break, as I was not wanting to overwork it. Now, I use it a couple times a week or more and it works fantastic. The quality of this seems to be much better than any other shredder I’ve ever owned, and the price was very reasonable! Don’t hesitate to invest in this. You’ll love it! ... show more

The Bonsaii shredder is one of the best machines I have purchased in a while. It is compact, durable and shreds materials fast and promptly. The shreder wroks better than advertised which is most suprising. Very easy to assemble and the machined parts are accurate and fit well.

    • Good budget shredder
I wanted to get the same shredder that we've been using for our small office for my home, but sadly that's no longer available. Amazon suggested this one as a substitute. It does the most important thing - shredding paper and junk mail - without clogging or making a dusty mess, which is the experience I've had with other home shredders. It went through several mailers that I didn't even need to take out of the envelope and didn't jam on plastic windows or weird inserts. I ran it continuously for about 10 min without overheating issues. The resulting shreds are nice, tiny, crinkled bits that destroy any sensitive information and can, in a pinch, be used for cat box filler in case of national shortages. (For other crazy cat people looking at this model, my cats have informed me they do NOT like the noise this machine makes and will be hiding under the furniture until I turn it off.) I have two issues with this particular model: one, the body and bin are fairly lightweight plastic. The body is only three sides, which made inserting the wheels without damaging or warping the chassis a little hard. I also had trouble getting the top, bin and body all lined up correctly the first time - and if you don't get it right, the unit won't power on or even tell you if it's getting power, which was confusing. The second issue is that the main elements of this shredder are all in the top unit - power supply, shred, controls, etc - which makes it top-heavy. If the floor isn't completely level, or the wheels are inserted unevenly, it wobbles. However, neither of these are enough to make me regret the purchase. It's good value for the price and does a solid job for normal home use. ... show more
