  • Pefrect Smart Home Plug
Number of Items: 1
I am extremely happy with my Shelly Smart Home Plug. It offers excellent WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth support, making it a versatile addition to any smart home setup. This plug works seamlessly with all major home automation systems, including Home Assistant and MQTT clients. Additionally, it can function as a standalone device thanks to its built-in web server. I currently have more than 50 Shelly devices in my home, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with their performance. The reliability and ease of integration make Shelly products a top choice for anyone looking to enhance their smart home experience. ... show more

  • Actually works for a smart home device
Number of Items: 1
I’m actually surprised this thing does what it says, can be controlled without some stupid cloud connected app, can be controlled through open source software, and acts as a Bluetooth proxy for Home Assistant. For turning on and off small AC powered devices it works well. Based on firewall logs, it doesn’t even attempt to phone home. ... show more

  • Works Instantly with Home Assistant. Much better reliability than zwave/xbee
Number of Items: 1
I have a ton of zooz zwave plugs and they work OK, but are not 100% reliable so I can't fully trust them. They sometimes report on when a device is off or the other way around. They are also a major pain to add to a home assistant and quite a few fall out of the network for unknown reasons (the new generation ones). This thing just WORKS. It's also awesome that it has a full blown web server, mqtt support and web sockets. This thing is just awesome! ... show more

  • A useful smart plug for nerds
Number of Items: 1
This plug works well and I like the app's features. The tracking is especially useful, but I wish statistics sharing could be done with a web address instead of needing an account. Wi-Fi reception is good, with it reaching from the first to the fourth floor using a directional antenna on the router. However, other embedded devices have stronger reception on the first floor so there's room for improvement, but at least the plug tolerates a weak or unstable connection. ... show more

  • Absolute nightmare to install and zero support
Number of Items: 1
Spent two days trying to make a simple wall plug work and failed. They have no phone support and the online support is unresponsive. Think of the worst customer support experience you ever had: That’s what you’re going to get with this product. I would definitely not recommend a Shelly product.

  • Awesome device. Integrates with Home Assistant terrific.
Number of Items: 1
I have purchased 7 of these devices. No operations problems - they work terrific and I have them all integrated with the Home Assistant smart home system. Not only do these allow remote turn ON and OFF, they provide voltage and current measurement. The only problem is all mine seem to either be very accurate in measuring voltage and current (and hence power, etc), or they are off 9%. All are updated to the latest Firmware. I returned the last one when I noticed this and it was replaced with another 9% off. I decided to just use the accurate ones where I actually CARE about the measurements. ... show more

  • Instant remote control, scheduled on/off, and real-time power consumption monitoring - INCREDIBLE
Number of Items: 1
Immediately after getting WIFI, I set up four of these Shelly Plus Plugs in my home. The setup was quick and simple. I set up a schedule for my basement dehumidifier to turn it off and on several times a day (to conserve power), and I can adjust the schedule occasionally to achieve an optimum balance of humidity versus power usage. I also set up several of my interior security lights to go on and off daily, and if my security camera detects an unexpected nighttime car in the driveway, I can turn on each of the lights in sequence, approaching the front door, while not actually having to walk to the lights to turn them on. I also have one for my Air conditioner so I can turn it on or off while I am away, so if it turns out to be an unexpectedly hot day, I can turn it on just before heading home. Likewise, if there is a storm and the house cools down quickly, I can just as easily turn it off. (I use a WIFI enabled thermometer/hygrometer to track the temperature and humidity both in the basement and on the main floor of the house. While having WIFI enabled cameras and thermometers are great for knowing what is happening in real-time, the Shelly Plus Plugs enable me to actually have control over events and the comfort of my home from anywhere! I am very happy with these so far! ... show more

  • Shelly Plus PlugUS Reports high line voltage and high current
Number of Items: 1
I previously had purchased a Shelly Plus 2PM and verified that the line voltage, current and energy reported via the API, web-socket and web page were within 3% of actual values. The results were quite impressive, so I decided to purchase the "Shelly Plus Plug US" (this device) anticipating similar performance. However using 60W incandescent light bulb (resistive) as the load, the API and web reported the line voltage at ~130V (actual on a meter was 118.6V). Also via the Shelly API, the line current was 0.547A (actual meter reading 0.480A). The API reported power was proportionally higher as well, 71W vs 57W actual. The first thing I did before running the above tests was to update the firmware on the device. That process turns out to be very simple via the devices own web page. From a previous review, I read that after the update you would need to reset it, but that was not necessary. While the ad indicates it has a temperature sensor, you can't actually use it to read ambient air temperature since the sensor is enclosed inside the unit. It reads the internal temperature of the device which for me was 116˚F. I believe that the Shelly Plus Plug US must be a 1st generation product, where the Plus 2PM is 2nd generation unit. However Shelly does not currently offer a 2nd generation plug. So would I purchase this again - Yes I would. Aside from readings that are too high which were disappointing, there are a number positives for why I like this product. 1) It has an extensive API library which allows you to manage, configure and use the device for home automation. 2) If you can't use the API, it has its own web page which essentially does all the main things you want. 3) You can set up Schedules and Timers on the device via the web page. For example, say you only wanted the device to turn off in 15 minutes or you wanted automatically turn it back on after 2-hours later or both, you can do this by setting a timer. With scheduling, you can set up specific turn-On and turn-off times for specific days of the week. Multiple schedules can be created. 4) The device uses WiFi instead of proprietary protocols like other devices. 5) It works well with Habitat. I easily added shelly devices to mine after installing the Shelly Plus Plus" driver. 6) A cloud account is not required to function on your home network. I did not sign up for an account nor download the android app to my phone. However if you need access to devices while away from home, you might need to consider a shelly cloud account unless you already have world access to your network via habitat, home assistant or some other home automation application. Overall the Shelly product line looks very good, especially their 2nd gen devices. ... show more
