Description

The EP25 is Kasa’s latest Apple HomeKit supported WiFi mini smart plug that supports 15A maximum load, with Energy Monitoring. You can use it to control lamps, fans, humidifiers, and other home electronic appliances while monitoring each device’s energy consumption. You can also control your plugged-in devices with voice control giving you the option of hands-free convenience. Set schedules, timers, all with the convenience of control from virtually anywhere with your phone. The Kasa app provides a robust suite of features to control your device and enables the plug to work in conjunction with other Kasa Smart devices with smart actions. I have about 10 different KASA branded smart plugs and they have always performed very well. The WiFi plugs have worked very well, are extremely easy to connect and control via the KASA app, and I have been extremely happy with this brand. The KASA app is great because you can set schedules, times, and group plugs together. Even better is that I can control them through Alexa as well. I use them for my holiday decorations to automate them turning on/off daily, and I love the voice command for the indoor items I control. Ordered & installed a four pack of KASA Smart Plug Mini 15A’s in late November to replace Wemo plugs I’d had for years, but had been suffering through connection issues for a long while. Looked up NYT Wirecutter reviews & these KASA Smart plugs were #1 recommended over Wemo so thought I’d give them a try. * KASA plugs connected easily right outta the box! * KASA app intuitive & easy to use, set my on/off times & they work great. * It’s now been over 30 days and I don’t have to think about them, they just work! These work well once you get them working. Wanted this version for the power use monitoring. Some things to note - the box/description says "Wi-Fi", but when using the app to set up, given the choice between wi-fi and bluetooth, I could not get them to connect at all with wi-fi, despite my phone reporting the connection was to the plug's network SSID. Tried at least 5 or 6 times, then tried contacting support, was on hold so long waiting for support that I decided to try bluetooth just to see what would happen while waiting, and that worked right away, so never actually talked to/chatted with support. I prefer to use Smart Things to manage all my devices, and these loaded in easily, but to use the energy monitoring, you have to go back to the Kasa app. I have a few (now discontinued) Samsung switches that do show the energy info in Smart Things, wish these ones did, too, so I could keep to a single app. Other than that, they seem to work well and say connected, the 4 pack is a good deal (and a great deal at the Black Friday price). Scheduling works well in Smart Things, too. ... show more

These were so easy to set up and a great bargain for 4. I feel these are easier to use than some of the higher priced ones. App is very user friendly and allows you to manually turn on and off from the app or set up a timer to come on and turn off at certain times. I love these and will be purchasing more! ... show more
