I replaced my old mechanical outdoor timers with these plugs so that I can control my outside Christmas lights with Alexa or the Kasa App. They work just like the indoor Kasa plugs that I've had for several years. I, like so many people, have a blended smart home devices family. Forgetting which smart home voice assistant controls what is frustrating. Can’t they all just be one big happy family? Yes they can! I have several Kasa products and they’ve all worked well with the exception of an older outdoor smart plug that went noncompliant for a while before deciding to play nice again with no more issues since. This Matter compliant smart plug was easy to set up and works great. For any network connected devices, if your WiFi setup doesn’t provide the necessary compatibility and coverage range, you will pull your hair out in frustration.
