Having successfully grown from an AVERGO bonsai kit previously, I was thrilled to find this beautiful set. First off, the box itself is beautiful and work keeping and everything inside is added with care and detail. They include QR codes to online instructions that are super easy to follow and you can learn a lot about bonsai from simply following their links. The kit not only comes with your 5 sets of seeds, they also include a bonus pack of "rainy day" seeds for just in case everything goes wrong and you need to try again, they included extra seeds!! SUPER useful as bonsai are a tough one to begin from seeds! The kit includes nice plastic lined grow bags, wooden plant tags, mini tools that are perfect for planting, and soil disks you just need to soak in water first in order to use. So everything you need to get started is there plus back up seeds! I already have 5 trees that I are about 6 months old growing from Avergo bonsai seed so Im super excited to get these guys planted! One trick I have learned is to use a small needle file to break through the outer shell of my bonsai seeds before planting and my germination rate has been excellent considering how tough bonsai are. I couldn't love this kit more and it would make a great gift for any bonsai enthusiast or newbie! ... show more

Super cute & nicely thought-out bonsai starter kit. I had my doubts. I’m a bonsai novice and was under the impression that growing trees from seeds was a fool’s errand. I haven’t yet ruled it out, but this kit made it simple to at least try! I was impressed with the kit components (dirt, multiple seed packs, growing directions, planting containers & basic hand tools). Setting everything up was straightforward (the directions were helpful) and 4 of the 5 seeds I set germinated after a week. Extra seeds were included so I’m attempting a 2nd effort for the one plant that’s being difficult. It’s been fun to play with and to dote on. I’ll try to remember to update this review in 20 years with news on my tiny forest  ... show more

Instruction manual is very easy to follow and there is also an online video available. This is great to keep or to give as a gift. Also nice for those in small living spaces or apartments without yard space to garden. the provided planter fits in your window sill. So far, none of mine have come up yet but it's still too early. It comes with extra seeds in case something fails on the first try. ... show more

If you are looking for a way to slow down and meditation or breathing techniques are not for you, then this bonsai garden may be an option. It gives you something to do that is simple enough that there's little chance of getting into an overthinking spiral and interesting enough to keep doing it. This nice set comes with two sets of seeds ( in case your first set doesn't sprout). The miniature tools are cute and make it feel more like playtime. Instructions are easy to follow. Product received looks just like the pictures, only I didn't cover my wife's eyes when I gave her the set. The packaging is very attractive which makes it great to give as a gift. The burlap growing bags are attractive and so far, the instructions have made it easy to start growing bonsai trees. It will be fun to see if my green thumb extends into miniature forests. ... show more

I wasn't really sure what to expect with this kit, and I'll be curious to see how things end up growing. I've always liked the idea of a bonsai tree and this kit intrigued me. It's very early to know if this will work out long term, but here are the initial observations, I will update later if issue come with the plants themselves. Opening the box was an ugly site, things were all over the place, not sure if this was due to transit or bad QC. I was a bit worried by this, but the kit itself is in good condition and has a lot of positive features. The kit has two nice little pots with bases and soil to be hydrated, mini garden tools, forceps, shears, and seeds. I don't know how useful the mini garden tools will be for this kit, especially based on the pots provided, but I love them. I had gotten a set with a plant stand and through they were a waste, but have found them to be very useful with indoor plant care and transplanting. I think these would be more useful to this kit if the plants were in a bigger/longer pot, but I'm happy to have them. Pots are nice. Soil was easy and fun to watch as it hydrated, you will definitely want a larger bowl than you think you will need (used one that seemed appropriate at the start and quickly became to small when setting them up following the very clear instructions provided. As for the seeds, my kit came with a pack of both plants with more than enough seeds for several plants, along with a bonus set of seeds. I'm glad I got the bonus, just because I wouldn't have known what I was planting otherwise (the stickers with the names of the plants had fallen off both seed packs, and there wasn't anything to identify them with (seeds are very distinct compared to each other). After soaking overnight I used the very handy forceps to plant 5-6 seeds into each pot and now comes the waiting game. After a week, I do have some sprouts of one plant. The night before there was nothing and the next day I had almost inch long starts, and they are growing quickly. So far nothing from the other. Instructions say it could take up to 30 days for sprouting, which is not great. Reading that I was concerned about getting a dud and not being able to know in time. However, I do have enough seeds for both that even with a few duds, I should be able to grow both plants, though only time will tell. So far things are off to a good start and I am happy with this set, but I will update if things change. ... show more

This bonsai tree kit has everything needed to sow bonsai tree seeds. Everything is well made. Instruction manual is very easy to follow. I also like that there is an online manual and video available. Planter is a perfect size to place on a window sill. I planted mine today, so they have not sprouted. I will update my review if they do not grow. Kit makes a great gift. It’s definitely worth the price. ... show more
