My computer is set up on a built-in counter that is higher than a desk, so I needed a "high chair." This one is perfect. I've had it for 6 months, and I couldn't be happier. The seat is cushy and comfortable and is shaped to keep you in the center. The arm rests are padded and comfortable, and they flip up if you want to roll the chair further forward under the counter or desk. The back rest is just right, soft enough, good angle. After searching and reviewing every drafting chair on Amazon within my budget, I picked this one even though I thought the price was kind of high. Boy was I wrong about the price, it's worth every penny and with a warranty included, I am so happy I picked this one. I put it together in about 30 minutes and loved it immediately. My old chair kept sinking and I've needed a new one for a long time. This chair hasn't sunk at all in the 3 months I've used it, not once. Sinking was one of my biggest concerns (after reading reviews on other new chairs sinking right out of the box) it was very important to me to choose a chair that wouldn't sink. If something changes with this chair and it should start to sink while in use, I will definitely update my review. I am 5'9" and 250lbs, and this chair fits perfectly and feels very sturdy. It's a tall drafting chair for my tall office desk and my feet rest perfectly on the footrest. The seat cushions are thick and soft and have not lost any form. The back support is so much better than the leather one I've used for years. It has an ergonomic back that helps not to slouch, and no more shoulder and neck pain which was a daily complaint I had before with my old chair. I didn't realize the comfort I was missing and what a difference a good chair means, especially if you suffer from chronic neck/shoulder pain. When I feel like taking a breather even for a few minutes, I can lean back and stretch out and the neck rest is perfect. Sometimes even when I am not working, I choose to sit in this chair to watch tv because of the recline ability and comfort. When assembling the chair the only thing I wished I would have known and done different was to make certain the armrest bolts were tightened to the same tension. I did not do that, and once the chair back was on the seat and the seat was on top of the base, there was no way to adjust the armrest height, so now one armrest is about 1/2" lower. Slight difference, my fault and not a deal breaker as to how much I love this chair! If you're trying to decide on which chair to get, I recommend this one 100%! I bought this chair after needing a high back drafting chair to accompany my new desk I built. It was on sale and It looked to work after watching all the videos and checking out reviews and pics. It came in 1 box that weighed 50lbs. The instructions were easy and the parts were all protected and marked. It took me less than 15 minutes to assemble. Positives: leans back... was worried about distance/stability; it's quality even when fully lifted @180lbs person has many smooth quiet adjustments sturdy construction and quality materials lack of fake leather means it will look good and last much longer than other chairs material is easy to clean can take a beating because of the hard plastic construction and still look good cons: back is open so if you work in a colder office your back might get cold. head rest can't be fully moved out of the way in front-to-back adjustment so big headphones turning your head can make them hit the head rest. IDK a forward back locking mechanism is the only way around the design which is comfortable the majority of the time... just not when turning your head with big headphones. The seat is a little hard for me for long usage. I just use a seat pad and everything is great. Best chair I've ever purchased under $300 ... show more

Seems like a really comfortable and solid chair. I have a steelcase Think chair that did not raise up high enough for me, I have long legs and arms and like a high desk while sitting. This chair is a great replacement at a fraction of the cost. More comfortable than the Think. I sit for long periods at a time. The seat is thick and dense in a good way. Drawbacks so far: wheels don’t glide as smoothly as steelcase chair. A screw and a rubber washer were damaged but they provide extra. Arms not height adjustable, just pivot up out of the way. No lumbar adjustment. All drawbacks to be expected given budget price. Everything functions as it should, looks good, seems durable, but some components not top of line. ... show more

I have had this chair for a month and been sitting in it about 3 days a week. Not once have I had to pull the lever to jack myself back up to the height of my kitchen counter where I work. This is exclusively what I bought the chair for. Well worth the money! I am 260 lbs. Chair is so comfortable and looks sharp too! Assembling it wasn't impossible but certainly took me some time. Best parts. -Simple to assemble & nothing feels cheap. -Comfortable for long periods of time. good back support -Height is goes low enough for a standard desk without a keyboard drawer. (I left the wheels off so it could sit lower for my standard desk) -material feels nice but I am not sure about longevity (if it falls apart I will update time it lasted) -Reasonably priced Worst parts -The lean is less than I am used to but enough to satisfy -locking function for leaning doesn't completely stop it from dropping back a little. Overall office chairs are too expensive but this is a great budget choice especially for someone taller with longer legs.
