We typically fill 70 or more bags over the course of the fall. This vacuum/mulcher was so much fun as compared to the drudgery of picking up the leaves by hand. I chose the corded version because of the power and I am glad I did. Sure, a little struggling with the cords but well worth the trade off for better performance, not to mention no interruptions due to dead battery. It is light weight and super easy to operate. The unit senses when the bag gets full and suction turns off. If you are like us and fill bags, I recommend not filling them completely with the mulched leaves or they become very heavy. I wanted a reasonably priced way to make my leaf collection easier. This fit the bill. I combined it with the Houseluxe leaf collection system that dumps the leaves into a trash can. An excellent combination - they made this a rather simple task. I did not use the leaf blower feature at all so I cannot comment on that - I used a separate blower. The information says in has a 10:1 chopping ratio - which is more like 3:1 or 4:1. However, it did work very well at vacuuming the leaves. Be prepared though, it creates "leaf dust" and you will likely need to change clothes after you are done. I saw comments regarding the plastic impeller and almost purchased a metal replacement. I don't think this is necessary. The vacuum mad quick work of small sticks around 1/8 inch. After 15 bags of leaves, the impeller had hardly any damage, even after the sticks. I was impressed with this but it doesn't work great on damp leaves, it will compact all of it around the mulching part. I had to open it up and dig out the wet leaves, it compacted it into basically a muddy pile. It does get heavy but its nice having the backpack to help with that. I felt the suction was great, the mulching part works. It is noisy but it's doing its job. Some of the plastic on the long suction part didn't connect seamlessly. ... show more

I purchased this because raking up leaves is annoying as heck and we are surrounded by oaks. I specifically wanted the vacuum function, as I already have a leaf blower. I have not used the blowing function yet but I would think it works great, at the very least so much easier for my weak arms to carry than our gasoline one. As for the vacuum, I went through about 5 bags of leaves on three separate occasions and it worked flawlessly. It handles little twigs and all the leaves fine, it will get a little clogged if you have a big pile of pine needles but that is to be expected. I did go through some wet leaves and it handled it great even without turbo mode, but again I'd suggest not doing all wet leaves as it can be a mess to empty the bag- I tried to do half and half mix if I had some wet ones to deal with and emptying was easy. I did have the motor cut out on my very last bag, and after inspection it seems I knocked the attachment out of alignment just a smidge, so make sure you have the bag and vacuum tubing attached securely or it won't work. P.S. I also received a bad one first, this review is regarding the replacement. The first one would not turn on at all, and after testing outlets and extensions it appears the motor was just faulty, and sure enough the replacement worked easy peasy with the same set up. Returning was easy, however I waited for the replacement to come so I could swap the motors out as you cannot really de-semble all the parts once put together, making it impossible to fit back in the box- so keep that in mind if it happens to you. Overall seems to be the best product for the pricepoint on the market, and is lightweight and easy to maneuver. The extension cord can become a little cumbersome, just make sure to hold it or secure it while using the blower/vacuum or it is easy to detach mid-use. ... show more

    • A powerful vacuum and blower, but keeps cutting out
The product is powerful and cuts through dry leaves with easy. It didn’t suck up 1” size rocks, so I had no issues there. You are not able to switch off the mulcher when in vacuum mode, so in dry areas (Arizona) it can get quite dusty. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the unit keeps cutting out. It’ll work for a few minutes then shuts off. The problem for me was the safety switch that wasn’t engaged properly when in vacuum mode. I’d say it’s a design fault because the little plastic protruding out on the black hose section isn’t long enough to keep the safety switch engaged all the time. You have to keep re-seating the hose with the main body unit to fix it. ... show more
