  • Great for specific conditions!
Style: 15LB
I have a room dedicated to all sorts of exercise equipment, but I saw these in a local sporting goods store, tried out the 25lb., and immediately knew I had a place for it -- my hardwood floor living room! Over the months, I added a 20lb. and 15lb. I can now do most of my strength training while watching TV with my family, not isolated in my gym. They don't scratch the floor or hurt my dog, who likes to "help", and they get me off the sofa! The negative is that their size, being larger than an iron kettlebell, makes a few exercises awkward to do. But I find the trade-off is worth it. ... show more

  • These Kettlebell's are AWESOME
Style: 40LB
I have 8 of these, various weights. They are DURABLE!! The delivery folks apparently don't like delivering weights, the boxes are are always torn up from being thrown around. No matter the condition of the box when delivered, the Kettlebells are always in tack. LOVE THEM!!!

  • GOOD OPTION IF YOU CAN'T GET THE CAST IRON KETTLEBELLS
Style: 35LB
I got this because there were no cast iron available. So I have done one workout with it. It is very solid even though it isn't metal. It is bigger than a cast iron 35 lb kettlebell. It is good for doing russian swing but I found that with american swings, the handle is slippery, no grip like the cast iron have. When I was at the top of the swing, the kettlebell flipped over in my hands from the straight up position. This could cause some issues if you have shoulder problems, (which I do) plus it was a little scary because of the size of it and it generally is not as compact as the cast iron so it felt a bit out of control. I wanted to do clean and squats but it is difficult if not impossible due to the leather wrapping that comes up on the sides of the handles, you can't slide your hands down on it. Goblet squats were a bit difficult too because of the leather, so I opted to hold it a different way. Some type of grip tape on the handle would help with the Kettlebell swings but I don't think there is anything I can do to make this work for clean and squats. I also did one arm rows which were fine. All in all, the product is good, seems very well made and will definitely work for some of the exercises that I do. ... show more

  • Good for home use
Style: 10LB
This review is based on the purchase of a 10 lb Bionic Body Soft Kettlebell. I was introduced to kettlebells by a personal trainer a few years ago and I'm accustomed to the small iron bells at the gym. I had to adjust a couple of my usual kettlebell exercises to accommodate the larger size of this bell. With the smaller, iron bells that I was used to at the gym, I could lift it in one hand above my head with the weight on the outside of my wrist. That's really uncomfortable with this larger, bulkier bell. But the trade-off is that when I accidentally ding my knee on a swing, it doesn't hurt much whereas with the small iron bells I'd have a huge bruise. The larger size and rounder shape of this bell, as opposed to small iron bells, has inspired some different exercises that I'm having fun with at home. Because I live in an apartment building with wood floors, I'm always concerned about making too much noise for the downstairs neighbors. This bell is not as clunky (i.e., loud on the floors) as a small iron bell would be. On first sight, my spouse remarked that the bell was "cute". It really is an attractive piece of gear. A visual delight that catches my eye and reminds me to do a few reps and lift me out of a "blah" mood. ... show more

  • Lots of things wrong with this kettlebell
Style: 15LB
As a personal trainer, I've used a lot of kettlebells. People seem to be drawn to this one because of the soft outer shell. If you're working out at home and new to kettlebells, this is a plus if you drop the kettlebell. The other thing about the softness is that it's easier on your wrist, but here's where it starts to go wrong. The kettle bell is too wide and round, so even if it's soft, it puts a lot of pressure when resting on your wrist. The second flaw is the shape of the handle. It's not as wide as the better kettlebells so it's difficult to pass between hands, especially if your hands are on the large side. And the opening is small too, probably because they are trying to make up for the large size of the bell. I found these to be too tall to be effective with dead lifts and rows. The third flaw is the smoothness of the handle. Your sweaty hands will slide around which can be dangerous with many exercises. Gloves are a must. The last thing, and I may just have a defective one, is that it leaks sand. I've tried two different weights this last month, 3-4 times a week, and the lighter weight leaks sand from around the handle. Enough to see it on the mat and feel it on my hands, arms, and legs. The heavier one is just starting to leak sand. I would not recommend this kettlebell. It's a good looking kettlebell (2 stars for aesthetics), and would make an attractive doorstop for your workout room, but it's not a good design for serious workouts. ... show more
