The BioLite CampStove 2+ is an electricity generating camp stove fueled by twigs, sticks, dried lichen, pinecones, and other forest floor debris, in addition to pellets, making it the ideal solution for camping, backpacking, overlanding, and emergency / survival situations. Patented combustion technology creates smokeless flames for clean, efficient burning— tabletop fire that makes everything from s’mores to complete meals—and the smart LED dashboard provides instant feedback on fire strength, fan speed (to control flame size), and power output. Devices such as phones, headlamps, and watches can be charged using the integrated USB port ; the thermoelectric generator which generates 3 watts of power for real-time charging, stores power in the 3,200 mAh battery for later use (with or without a fire). A scalloped pot stand holds cookware over the burner, including the BioLite KettlePot and Portable Grill (sold separately), for preparing delicious wood-fired meals almost anywhere. Boiling time for one liter of water is 4.5 minutes, and the adjustable flame can be controlled with four fan speeds. The BioLite CampStove 2+ is available in two configurations: Stove Only (includes a 100 lumen LED FlexLight to light surroundings, stuff sack, Firestarter, and USB cord), or Complete Kit (includes CampStove 2+, Portable Grill, KettlePot, Coffee Press, FlexLight, 2x stuff sacks, micro USB cable).     • Amazing concept - finally a gadget that works!

Every boyscout out ther will tell you "THIS IS A GADGET" But the thing is.. the thing works, and works surprisingly well. Most of all, the turbo charged burning of twigs is almost worth it in its own right. But the build in storage for extra amp hours.. well what not to like, we all have a smartphone. Don't let your imagination get carried away, the BioLite stove will not charge your laptop. its a smartphone maintainer and borderline if there are more than one desperate for a full charge. sooo. make friends, charge 75% and let the next have a sip of the good stuff. remember the last 10% takes way longer to charge as thats maintainance charging mostly. BioLite have a deeper mission and provide larger stoves to developing countries, the website mention having reached 3.5 million users.. I don't really imagine there have been made 3.5 million biolite stoves yet.. so maybe thats a "number of people impacted" by one family having a stove kinda figure? not sure. BUT BUT BUT.. I shipped one to a friend who is a farmer along a river in Thailand, the quick small fire ability and providing a charge for the phone.. well dang. they love the stove. I feel good having provided it. and I truly belive this is a product that ought to be much more available in developing countries. the price may be a bit steep. but honestly, BioLite actually being involved, I can pay a little extra for a proper bit of gear, and sleep a little better knowing a bit of my purcahse have made somebody elses life a little better as well. The media could not be loaded. Where to begin with this little stove? I think the thing I love most about it is the efficiency with very little fuel. Out and about, i'll just chop up and use the deadwood that's laying around. If prepped ahead of time, i'll take a few cups of pellets to burn. 2 cups of pellets last me about 40 minutes of burn time with the fan going. The multiple fan speeds allow you regulate the heat a little bit, which is nice. Don't always need it full speed. The USB light is a nice little add-on, and gets its use at night time. Overall, very happy with the stove after a few uses. Pros: - Multiple fan speeds - Auto fan start once fire heats up - Small and portable. Packs up really well - Wide base helps stabilize larger pots and pans on the top - Very little to no smoke once up to temperature - Visual indications for temperature, fan speed, and battery level - Surprisingly good water resistance - Extra outer skin on burn chamber stays much cooler than main chamber (still hot though, but not scorching) - was able to get 10W out from USB port which could be nice in a pinch Cons: - Need to take an extra little bit of time to center the pot on top. (really the only con I can really think of) ... show more
