Of course this is not made of native wood panels. It is a very strong particle board, but it actually has the heft and look of quality wood. The bars are much stronger than that of a standard wire crate. They also have a powder coat that looks great. I can see some dogs breaking it but if they are ok in a wire crate then this is a big step up. It has 2 easy to open doors and during assembly you can choose which side you want the side door. Assembly was very easy, there is only one bolt size which is great. Once assembled it is heavy and rock solid with no creaking or flexing. I am very impressed with this. These crates are amazing. I got two for each of my dogs to go on the end of the couch as end tables and they work perfect. Went with a size medium for our two English bulldogs. They fit them perfectly. They look great and were easy to put together. Only took about 30 minutes each. The quality of them is excellent. For the second one we just reversed the wood and door so it would match more for the end table look we were going for. Highy recommend these! I hate that the wood grain looks like every piece of Walmart furniture from several years ago but it still looks better than a wire crate. It's kind of heavy which is good unless you plan to move it a lot. Pros: sturdy, roomy, looks decent, pad is easy to wash Cons: latches pop easily if one dog is in the crate and another walks by wagging her tail, she'll pop open both doors. Be prepared to weight them or tie them. Pad is very thin despite the description saying it's thick. It's ok. ... show more

The latch is loose and door keeps opening. And some of the holes don’t align to screw parts together. But it’s pretty and spacious. Pad is so thin that shouldn’t even be included.

Easy to set up and looks much nicer than a regular crate. Although the latches don’t work well, a dog can easily paw at it and it comes undone. I tie string around it to ensure my puppy doesn’t get out when we’re not home.

I put this together in about an hour by myself & it was very easy everything lined up perfectly. Except the last screw but that is because I screwed the feet all the way in. You should leave the bottom feet screws farther out as to not interfere with the last screws at the bottom. It looks great & I have my 2 little dogs in there when I leave home to keep them safe & out of trouble. I also had enough room for a water bowl to be screwed to the inside.
