it's heavy. but wow was actually easy to assemble even despite very basic instructions. It is easy to move with the rollers and I love that you can lock the wheels quite easily. The latches seem well made and the ability to open the top makes placing a dog bed inside the crate much easier. So far very pleased. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Several months down the road and is absolutely the perfect crate for a large breed dog. I use a Big barker crate bed which fits perfectly and makes this the most amazing dog crate. I purchased this to replace a pair of crates that my german shepherd dog destroyed when in a series of panic attacks. This new crate with it's square bars seems a lot more durable than any of the "wire" crates that are out there, giving us some peace of mind that she won't be able to try and "break out" of the crate. This is a 46" wide crate, which is large enough for my adult german shepherd to get in and lay down. The peaked roof does give her some additional head room to sit up on occasion and readjust. It is smaller than her old crate, a 54" one, where she had a little more freedom to get up and walk about a bit, and sometimes even bash a toy about. I do wish that they offered a 54" version of this crate. This is an indoor crate only. I don't expect it would last very long exposed to the elements, but it is perfectly fine for use inside the house. The hammered bronze appearance to the metal looks good if you have to have it out where people can see it. This is an expensive crate, no doubt about it, but I'm expecting that it will last for a very long time. ... show more

I needed a heavy duty crate for My 2 year old German Shepherd. Her back was nearly reaching the top of her old pet gear crate. Durability was important and height. The size was perfect but the look of the locks worried me. Took me 2 months to decide. Took the chance and I’m more than satisfied. This is a huge cage, super durable, and the locks are strong. Ivy senses the durability and does not try to bust out. She goes in with no problem. This is a huge box. It is heavy but easy assemble. Did it on my own. No missing hardware, no imperfections, and no holes that didn’t line up. If your hesitation is possible flimsy locks from the photos, put it to bed. No buyers remorse here. Great crate. ... show more

This product looks like it can hold my dog and is safer than a wire crate, the fact it arrived early and returning it to Amazon was easy is why I give it 1 star. As you can see from the photos there are many places where there is damage and a couple of spots where the finish is coming off. I am currently waiting for a replacement Crate and will update this review after it arrives. The replacement crate arrived 3 days earlier than expected and this time there was no damage as you can see from the 2 new photos also as you can see there is plenty of room for my dog to move around and this crate should be strong enough to hold my dog and is much safer than the wire crate he was using. To give you an idea of the size of my lab he is 117 pounds so he is a very large lab. Also, the seller was very quick to resolve my problem so that is why I changed to a 5 star rating and I would recommend this crate. ... show more

This thing is massive, and certainly seems pretty heavy duty! We got it for our 65 lb 6 months old Great Pyrenees who destroyed his other wire crate :( so far, he seems to be doing a little better with this one, no damage, and I think it helps that he has some more headroom since he is a tall boy. This thing really is huge though! My only minor issues at this point are that one of the bolts missed getting welded on for the lock on the skylight (see photo) -- seems like it should be ok since he isn't going for the top to escape. The other is that the locks seem a little flimsy, though I will give them the benefit of the doubt untill proven otherwise. Last thing is I do worry about his comfort. Ours came with 2 different pans instead of the 1 I expected, so I couldn't put it inside to give him a flat surface instead of being directly on the bars (not as worried about accidents as him actually relaxing at some point while being in there...), so with the bars on the bottom being elevated off of the tray, I would say you should definitely consider a bed to add some padding and comfort if you can. I just can't imagine leaving him to lay on the bars with nothing else, even though they are thicker. Otherwise, it arrived quickly, was simple enough to assemble, and the wheels do make it easy to move around, while also locking pretty securely in place too. So far I'm happy with the purchase and hope it makes things a little easier with our large, growing puppy! ... show more

Just received the crate today! I purchased the largest size available (48in), my American bully pup loves it. He walks right in and hangs out in it. We usually have to struggle with him to get him in the cage. We had the typical wire kennels, he’d chew the plastic tray on the bottom, chew all the beds we stick in there, and most importantly ESCAPE. The tray sits underneath the floor of the kennel and provides a barrier so NO CHEWING 😍 also, if he needs to pee or poo, the urine will just fall right through the floor into the tray- easy cleanup!- so now basically he just enjoys the bed we placed in there (he’s already started chewing a hole) but the cage is great quality! My female even likes to walk inside and check it out she’s getting one next... it’s good to know she likes it. Now it’s just the test of time. Will he Houdini his way out? Or will he be trapped 👀 only one way to know. *also, I must add, the directions are a little too simple. It literally just tells you to assemble the cage with no real direction.... There’s 2 types of bolts provided, it’s easy to place the bolts in the wrong hole and almost have it together before you realize you need to take those bolts out and replace them with the correct ones. Also, the wrench provided is not the right size for the nuts. I don’t have many tools at home so I had to improvise 🙃 once the cage is together it looks amazing and is nice and sturdy. ... show more
