  • Larger than it looks!
Color: Gray
I must say this thing is huge! Some asked can you cook a whole turkey in this thing and I'd say with the extension ring, Yes! After researching many brands and finding out all the pros and cons I decide to buy this one. I did not want a small one and also didn't like the idea of the teflon coating coming off on my food which many people complained about from other brands. It's a 16 quart glass bowl with racks and an extension ring included. I recommend you put it in a nice open area as it does tend to throw off a lot of heat. The heat comes out around the top of the bowl as well as the two bottom side vents on either side. The best place I had to put it where I didn't feel I had to worry to much was right on top of my stove. I have low overhanging cabinets. I set it on top of a glass cutting board first to make sure it was level and stable. Since I was worried about the heat I used my oven thermometer to check the surrounding temperature. You can see how hot it was getting behind the unit. This thermometer and the back part of the stove is about 7 inches away from the edge of the bowl. I was also worried about the cord touching the top of the bowl because it gets so hot. As you can see the cord is wrapped there with some sort of heat resisted fabric I believe to protect the cord. I remedied this by using one of my pot holder magnets to keep the cord off the top of the unit. I cooked the chicken legs at 375° for 30 mins. They weren't quite done underneath so I flipped them and cooked them for 15 minutes more. They came out juicy and delicious. They were nice and crusty on the outside with no coating and no oil. I just used a bit of seasoning. I'd also recommend leaving the ring nearby to set the lid on when you're checking the food, flipping it or getting it out of the bowl. The lid is quite hot and probably not best to put it directly down on the counter top. Clean up was easy for the most part. I put the bowl in the sink once it cooled and placed hot soapy water inside then placed the rack and basket in the water to soak. The rack came clean easily. The basket was a little harder because of the weave. All in all a great product but be warned it is large! My only gripe is that there are no directions for use included in the box. I had to use a YouTube video to figure out the basics like turning it on and what racks to use and how. I recommend this product highly. I hope this review is helpful. ... show more

  • Speedy, convenient & healthy
Color: Silver
This is an amazing appliance for the price. It even dehydrates food. What we like. The BB is big and can be made bigger with the extender ring - options. It's glass and we can see everything as its cooking. This is especially nice as we learn how use this thing. Saves us from under cooking or burning food. The controls are simple and not digital. Turn 2 knobs and we're cooking already. The accessories are almost enough - more below about this. With the extender ring, it's so easy to cook/dehydrate a lot of food at once; it really amps up the volume. With the extender ring in place, the BB is big enough to roast a 16 lb turkey. OK, maybe we'll never use the wall oven ever again...lol. Although we've had the BB for less than a month, we sure hope that it lasts. We might order a second one as a back-up because it works so well and probably has built-in obsolescence. Accessories - we ordered the Sharper Image accessory package and returned it. All that we really wanted from this pack was the mesh bowl. Okey dokey, pizza screens are available from the WebStaurantStore (yes, spelled this way) online at anywhere from $1.39/ea to $2.09/ea for 10", 11" and 12" pizza screens. We have them in these 3 graduated sizes to fit in the bowl because its diameter increases from bottom to top. The 12" screen just fits inside the top of the bowl. It's a fantastic way to protect the BB's heating element from flying food like kale chips. We also bought some anodized aluminum hard pizza screens at $10.49/ea. The material is naturally non-stick, will never rust and is super rigid. We use these on both top & bottom for support. On the bottom it's with parchment paper to make clean-up a breeze. The prices on Amazon for these products are obscene even when we included WebStaurantStore shipping. Just search for pizza screens at this online retailer. Browse through the WebStaurantStore's other products to fully accessorize this model at a fraction of the cost of the accessory packages. What's more, the commercial kitchen products are much sturdier than the homemaker offerings for the air fryers. Given the BB's cooking capacity with the extender ring, we also wanted a way to stack 3 layers of food. This model has a greater cooking capacity than any other of the air fryers. At this price point it's an exceptional bargain compared to other brands. So, we ordered a some culinary mesh deep fryer baskets from WSS and the DH cut off the handles. If you don't have access to a shop, then this model with a removable handle from Amazon is also great - Best Utensils Stainless Steel Deep Fry Basket Round Wire Mesh Fruit Strainer With Resting Feet and Long Handle Frying Cooking Tool Food Presentation Tableware, 5.7 Quart. We ordered from WSS 10.5" wire steamer racks with folding legs to stack inside the BB (also stupidly expensive on Amazon). WSS online steamer racks are $1.68/ea and the legs can be removed for stacking 2 together to make the mesh smaller when set on the diagonal. Similar models are also on Amazon. Chrome-Plated Cross-wire Cooling Rack, Wire Pan Grate, Baking Rack, Icing Rack, Round Shape, 2-Height Adjusting Legs - 10 ½ Inch Diameter, Set of 3 Another mesh basket possibility for light foods like kale chips is this, back to the century, handy dandy folding mesh basket. Cooks Net - Instant Essential and Flexible Kitchen Helper. For fluffy foods like kale chips, we use a fryer basket with a pizza screen inverted on top of the fryer basket to keep the kale from flying up into the heating element. Because the fryer basket is rigid, it's easier to shake the food part way through cooking as instructed in many of the recipes. And there we have it. We love the BB and have fully tricked it out from an online commercial kitchen supplier with items that aren't necessarily air fryer accessories. WSS's 'accessory' offerings are better quality and less expensive. Happy air frying! ... show more

  • Very good -- except for the racks
Color: Red
I cook steaks in this. After a bit of a learning curve as to time/temp it does a pretty good job of producing medium rare. I find it works best when cooking from frozen. A note on the glass bowl, it's very easy to chip the edges, especially when washing in a large, enamel sink. Maybe a stainless sink would be a little easier on it, a little less apt to chip the glass if you manage to tap it, but anyway what I do now is leave it in the plastic holder, place it in the sink, carefully wash and rinse, etc. That all being said, one night I left the high cooking rack soaking in a couple of inches of soapy water. (The rack was upside down of course.) The next morning it was rusty. A week or so later I left it again, and next morning it was very rusty. The metal is some kind of cheap white metal, and who knows if it's toxic. It leaves greenish color on paper towels used to wipe off excess grease, and on the sponge. The photo shows partially washed rack. Just wanted to let people know the rack is made of some kind of cheap metal, and I am now looking for an actual stainless steel replacement. ... show more
